Re: Round the World on a PCX

I also saw his story via ADVrider. Maintenance shall be no problem for him, his first idea was to travel the world on a diesel Royal Enfield which he maintained himself. So I think he is technical enough to take care of the PCX. Tires: you can take one or two with you, the rest you can let somebody ...

Re: Ermax

...if you are happy to increase risk of damage to your body then thats your choice. I think you're twisting things around. It's not a matter of increasing risks (by taking motorcycle clothes off, I wasn't born with a motorcycle suit on) but decreasing risks by wearing protective gear. And the choic...

Re: Ermax

I don't really believe the hearing loss part because I've been riding motorized two-wheelers for maybe twenty years now and my hearing is still OK! Are you using special plugs because you should think that you wouldn't hear sirens as good as without the plugs. So I thought that maybe you have specia...

Re: Maintenance: what about the intervals?

I don't understand why you change oil every 1250 mls while Honda says it should be done every 5000 mls? I think if Honda says 5000 that is already on the safe side. I'm absolutely not checking the valves myself, I have the amazing ability to do damage to things I try to maintain. Thank you Edscoot ...

Re: Maintenance: what about the intervals?

I think I will make some waypoints (POI) on my navigation system (Garmin eTrex) for Honda dealers in the neighborhood of my trip. If anything happens which doesn't need immediate attention I can always visit such a dealer. Only have to work on my French and Spanish because I think they speak Dutch v...

Re: Ermax

I should point out I had a lot more helmet noise with the stock windscreen, less with the Ermax and now less again by taping the gap. We have big bugs here that hurt and splatter on your clothing when going fast. OK, it's good to hear what you experienced. There are also people who wrote that the h...

Re: PCX 150?

I've asked my dealer about the PCX 150 and he said it was coming at the end of June, week 26. Only 100 euros extra. Also the color red is getting available here in Holland. So........

I've changed my order for a white PCX 125 in a red PCX 150!!! :D
Only have to wait an extra month!

Funny, I'm totally opposite, love two wheels and dislike four wheelers, blocking every street in every city and outside!

Re: Ermax

I think I will not buy a windscreen because of the many negative reactions of many windscreen owners. With all the different windscreens I hear about helmet noise that has increased since placing the new windscreens. I rather have the wind on my chest than on my face, I love to ride with my helmet o...

Re: Maintenance: what about the intervals?

I would learn to do the oil change if I was you. It's really quick and easy, and is about the best thing you can do to keep your engine in good condition - also, it's pretty cheap to do. I change mine every 1250miles. As for your valves: Checking them is a pain - it takes ages and you have to fiddl...

Re: Maintenance: what about the intervals?

I just put this up for convenience: http://hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=323 According to the manual, you need to replace the oil every 5000 miles and adjust / inspect the valves every 2500 miles (howto here: http://hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=24). Those are the only two MAJOR main...

Fiah wrote:Well, one problem could be that the engine has no real oil filter. It has a catch screen to catch some stuff, but no oil filter.
Does this catch screen a good a job as a filter? Or is a filter better? Why would Honda not use a filter if it's better?

Re: How do I remove this screw?

 We might be the smaller of the two forums, but that's only because they've been around almost a year longer (this site isn't even 6 months old!), and because they pay for advertising on Google. I like to think that, one day, we might be the bigger forum, only because of good, solid content. E...

Re: Ermax

I'm also thinking about an Ermax +25. I used to ride Pantheon/Foresight scooters equipped with nice windshields, you could drive always with an open helmet, the way I like it the best, and just look over the screen on the road before you. But then again, I'm going to travel to places where temperatu...

Yeah, that must be the +12 version. The +25 version looks a lot higher.
