Suggestions about buying a motorcycle that has a loan (USA).
When shopping for a larger motorcycle, i am finding lots of sellers who have loans to pay off. I can pay off their loan and take their bike home ( i get a Bill Of Sale when i send off the loan money). But i can't register the motorcycle until the loan release arrives. It is not a huge problem if the...

Re: Seat won't latch
Thanks for the photos. Was there any effort required to remove the OEM bumpers? I worried about breaking or ruining them if i tried to pull them out. Did you use a screwdriver or pliers? Or do they just pull out using your fingers?

Re: Seat won't latch
@JonW, are you going to shave the edges of the old bumpers? or are you going to cut thru them cross-section to lower them? I have been leaving my seat unlatched for 2 years. When i took it to the dealer in 2014, he slammed the seat shut and said "That's how you do it". Leaving the seat unl...

I have been in the habit of hitting the Kill Switch as i near my destination. Then i coast to a stop. Put the side stand down and remove the key. Maybe i need to stop doing that. I went to the CTX Forum and saw ex-PCXforum-member Steph. She and her husband both have CTX's. I am thinking about buying...

Re: New PCX tips
With my 50cc scooter, i seldom needed to use the rear brake. With the PCX, i found it better to use the left brake to begin my braking; then add the right brake as i slowed.

Re: Rear Tyre
@jojo and @gn2, thanks to both of you for posting this. I did not really understand what a "wear bar" looks like. I thought they were a bright horizontal band. No, just a small bump located inside a groove in the tire. My rear tire wear band was showing. I went to the dealer. He said i nee...

Re: Rear Tyre
I think your rear tire will easily go 10,000 miles. You will see the warnings (the "wear bars") when the tire is at the end of its life. Front tire can make 18,000 miles. I am getting these numbers from previous forum posts. I have almost 7,000 miles on my PCX and the tires seem fine. Now ...

Re: help with selling my bike
The key to answering your question depends on the manner that the buyers are going to "pay the money into your account". There are 17 different scams involving long-distance (4 hours away) purchases. If they wire money into your account from a bank in their home town, the funds are probabl...

1st spark plug replacement after how many miles?
At 6,000 miles, my PCX starts quickly. The owners manual says to replace the plug at 5,000 miles. When did you replace yours for the 1st time?

Re: Another boring introduction email.
192 cm is 6'3". Which is at the upper limit for comfort on the PCX. i slide back and sit on the center or rear portion of the seat. That is not perfect but you don't want your knees hitting the handlebars. 100 miles per gallon makes this a wonderful commuter.

@steve. Obviously you are a Health Nut. I expected to see some sprouts and garbonzo beans sprinkled among those cans of vitamin water. Is the "F" for Vitamin F?

Footrest for rear passenger on 2013 PCX
When i swung out the footrest, something popped out and rolled away. It was a screw that holds 2 plastic parts together. The 2 plastic parts are directly beneath the footpeg. I checked the footpeg on the other side and the screw (looks a bit like a bolt) was tight. I have taped the 2 plastic parts t...

Re: Oil strainer cap part number?
You aren't the only one to round that bolt. It seems like the oil strainer only needs to be cleaned once. No one has reported any debris in it during later oil changes. Most people didn't find any debris during the first inspection. There are a few photos on this site of some metal pieces caught by ...

Nice video. Too bad you hit so much traffic in the first few minutes. That takes away from the viewing experience.

@Seth, i spent 30 minutes reading that entire reddit thread about stealing motorcycles (the thread was closed 3 years ago so there are no new comments). The thief says that stolen Ducati's are a goldmine. If dealers are having a difficult time selling PCX's , maybe no one wants to steal them.
