Re: What a day
I could not find a logical explanation for a higher top speed with a brand new belt. As the belt wears the gearing shortens, standard problem with all regular CVT scooters. Sure, I get that, I meant I could not find a logical explanation for this IF THERE WAS A SPEED LIMITER. Some users suggested (...

Re: What a day
I must disagree. I do not believe there is any kind of limiters in the PCX. Holy thread resurrection Batman! Irrespective of what you may think, the original PCX as extensively discussed here and elsewhere at length all those years ago definitely does have a limiter. Stay calm, Robin! :D I am sure ...

Yep same here.
We should try the anti-mist spray.

Re: What a day
I must disagree. I do not believe there is any kind of limiters in the PCX. It is the mechanical limit of the parts movement. The variator plates touch each other with their centers, the belt cannot be stretched anymore physically, and therefore cannot spin the clutch any faster. You get to those 10...

Re: ? top speed pcx 125?
I mean the top speed part. Since I replaced the variator with Malossi and 11gr rollers - the wind and small hills have become a liiitle bit less embarassing. Top speed 120km/h (no wind), but only on a relatively new belt. After that speed goes down to 106km/h and sits there. Which is where I'm at ri...

Re: ? top speed pcx 125?
I found a small belt factory here in PT. They can make any size and type.
What do you guys think of having a custom belt made, 1mm wider than stock?
Should solve the problem, no?

Re: headlight upgrade
It looks a bit weird on these photos but it's absolutely white in real life, with blueish cutoff. I will try to get a picture with more realistic colors.

Re: headlight upgrade
Thanks!
All parts should be back on the bike soon.
That's reflective tape, BTW. Should increase my safety by quite a margin.

Re: headlight upgrade
For an H7 headlight it would be easier, there is an adapter for horizontal level. The height - no need, the height adjusting mechanism works as before, I would use the screws below the headlight, as always. To make sure that both are leveled horizontally - yes, I will put the open headlight on the s...

Re: headlight upgrade
Well, it it was in the same place - it would make the same effect as the halogen bulb, in terms of light scattering and cutoff line. It doesn't. But I guess there is no need to keep discussing it. It was easier than I expected. Pre-heated the oven to 130 Celcius (30 or 40 min), in went the headlight...

Re: headlight upgrade
Yeah these projectors are pretty cheap and they are universal. They come with adapters for H7 reflectors. Just open the headlight, pass through the orifice made for the bulb, and tighten with a screw behind it. Xenon bulb used in these universal projectors is H1 (because of the size). You would need...

Re: headlight upgrade
Yes we are just calling it differently. The Xenon light source is not in the same place as the halogen bulb, if you just put an H7 HID kit into a reflector made for halogen. That is why all the light on this photo is scattered all over the place, and there is no cut-off line at all . That means your...

Re: headlight upgrade
I checked their website and I cannot find anything different from the usual Xenon stuff. The shape is the same, they have the full range of bulbs. Of course you would order a H7 bulb (to replace a H7 halogen) but the Xenon arc would still be in the center. I do not recall the times when "Xenon ...

Re: headlight upgrade
Sendler, the halogen bulb has the filament positioned closer to the end of the bulb, while the gas bubble with the Xenon arc is precisely in the center of the bulb. That is what causes the wider angles of the projected light. That is where the scattering comes from. Theoretically, if we were able to...
