Wiring to the bars

Has anyone, or do you know of anyone, who has fed power to the handlebars? I have the GPS kit from my last bike and am considering fitting it to the SH300, but I'd rather see how someone fed the cables, got panels off etc than trial and error myself.

Heated grips

Has anyone fitted heated grips to their SH? I'd be interested to know how you fed the wires to the battery.

It looks like a hotch potch of what other manufacturers are already doing, but will cost a lot more.

Re: Oil leak

I wonder if they told you the lack of head gasket just to mollify you. Would the scoot work AT ALL without a head gasket? And wouldn't there be a fair bit of white vapor in the exhaust, since the head gasket is what is supposed to keep the coolant from getting to the combustion chamber? Some bike e...

Re: Oil leak

no head gasket!!!! thats terrible. Suprised its lasted so long until it leaked. Check yours out. I'm waiting for Honda UK to get back to me. About what? I've reported the issue to them and said that I'm not happy having bought a flawed bike and ridden it for 1800 miles. I didn't pay for a co...

Re: Locks

Since the cheap availability of cordless angle grinders, the effectiveness of locks has dived (especially in places like London when a thief can grind a lock off and steal a bike on a packed street without so much as a second look). I always stipulate no lock on my insurance. It's surprising how lit...

Re: Oil leak

Well the scoot was ready for me today, so I had to give the 650 back. I was starting to get used to it, but also reminded why I'd rather not have a bike which would allow me so much stupidity. The oil leak? According to the dealer the engine came out of the factory with no head gasket fitted. They'v...

Re: The Smart Key

Sorry, I'm not following. Why is the smartkey unnecessary when you have to carry the hexagonal key with you? I think the plastic hex is not an ignition key, just a luggage box key. I understand what he is saying and he has a real conundrum. You need the hex key to access a battery failure on your n...

If you need to carry a key, it might as well work the ignition.

Hush your pretty mouth. I'm just starting threads to generate content. It's good for the forum, as it generates search traffic.

The Smart Key

Mine has worked flawlessly since I had it. It's great not having to faff around with keyrings, or getting the scoot scratched by dangly keys. It's unfortunate though that you only get one with the scoot. I believe that you get 2 fobs with the X-ADV. I'm puzzled though by the flat battery scenario. I...

They're rather good.
It's a 66 plate. A bit harsh after riding the SH, but very quick. I need to spend some more time on it.

Re: Oil leak

Yup, there's a gasket needs replacing. I don't know which one though. Whichever it is, they can't get the gasket for 3-5 days, so I'm left to play with the SV650 loan bike. I'm not complaining.

I think it's almost a given that it should be put on the center stand.
Yeah, but that still leaves the front.

Re: Screens

I think I've only had my visor down a couple of times since I fitted the large screen. So much so that I'd buy an open-face helmet if I wasn't concerned about coming off and landing on my face. It seems that the routine where they're built and ridden most is to wear normal clothes and an open-face h...

Yeah, both the Givi screens bolt onto the Honda brackets.
