I'd rather look at the speed sensor at the back of the transmission.
OP mentions that dash does the self test so it is connected. Given the number of connections and placement of the dash connector I doubt it would have a selective or intermittent problem.

Re: New PCX 2018 tire size
I'm running 110 at the front and 120 at the rear. No modifications were needed at all, and the above specs should be fine on any stock PCX.
Slight mods (in fact a some spacing of the rear fender) needed if someone wants run 140 at the rear.

Re: PCX125 finally gets some much deserved love
Good job. I especially like your attitude to save the bike instead of dumping it for a new one. Two thumbs up. Your "swinging bike lift" is quite similar to what I usually do with my PCXes. Unfortunately my larger bijes are too heavy to suspend them from the beams, so I had to make a proje...

I strongly believe that violence leads to violence. Just to further support GN2's case. Hungarian population is 9.8 million, also with a very restrictive firearm legislation. Last four years number of homicides and suicides where firearms were used was 4, 7, 6 and 4 in order and they're steady. Tota...

Re: ECU tuning pgm fi controller yuminashi
You need a programming cable from Yuminashi to do accurate setup. The three knobs allow crude fuel adjustments for three rpm ranges (similar to a carbs float level, needle and main jet adjsusts for low rpm, low load, cruise, hard accel) . The ignition adjusts spark advance) retard for the full rpm r...

Try to shoot for 13.5 AFR for anything above 50% throttle and 13.2-13.0 for WOT for best performance.

Re: What Going On With Shipping yuminashi???
Unfortunately customer service and logistics of Yuminashi is... Well, haphazard at least. I know more people with bad experience regarding the above areas than positive. Once it happenned to me that I waited two months for parts to arrive only to find they have sent wrong items.

Dunno if studying counts as a hobby, but it's close to that. I started of as a radio technician, and served my time in the army like so (at that time it was obligatory here in Eastern Europe). Then studied and got a degree in Electrical Engineering, with a telecommunications major. A bit later I wen...

Re: Enough about going faster, how about slowing down?
Welcome to the forums. I also have a sportsbike background, and found the oem brakes a bit too weak - and lacking of modulation (read, not enough stopping power until squeezing really hard and then suddenly locking up at the front). Went for EBC sintered pads, 260mm disk, braided hose for the front,...

Re: 2013 PCX 150 Cam Chain Tensioner Replacement
Excellent writeup. I'd add one small detail. Honda uses J.I.S. fasteners - not Phillips standard. Even though the two are looking the same, they are slightly different shape. Phillips screwdrivers have an internal angle effectively meaning that they "cam out" from JIS heads limiting the to...

Re: Shock upgrade
Great work Thomas, One comment though. You got the spring preload explanation reversed. Shocks have the least preload when the ring is at the top, and as one compresses it it will have a higher preload setting. Also not to mix preload with ride stiffness. Adding preload sets the initial spring tensi...

Cessna - you must fly the little sucker! Do you do a lot of high speed stuff? I believe he's doing low altitude flights. Joke away, my long term consumption figures are between 2.5-2.7 litres/100km (or 86-95 mpg). With an aftermarket variator, larger than stock tires, and stop and go traffic with l...

That photo is like my right leg, broke it some 31 years ago, metel plate/ 7 screws still in,may be they forgot me hospital now gone. Yup, it is about a right ankle. The long screw was removed first, and the rest about 8 months later. My doc said that they would normally leave them in. It was about a ...

Re: How many miles do you expect out of your PCX?
And for the sake of balance. No screws or plates, just 40 years of riding, never dress for a “slide” and cagers is a rude and idiotic tag to put on people. Grow up please. Really happy for you. Hope it will stay that way. Things can be completely different in the centre of the universe I believe. M...

Good ro hear that you've got mended - some of the other new is not great though. Keep on healing and don't stress about not riding the pcx.

Nope. Got it removed recently, life is much better now. It's just a reminder that I really should dress for a slide everytime, and be paranoid with cagers.TheMaverick wrote: So the screws and plates stay in forever?

Huh, poor little Hybrid PCX opened up a big can of worms While I agree with many of the points I'd add a few things, as I believe I see a few things from a different prospective. I have to say here that I'm quite biased, as we're currently building 2MWp capacity Photovoltaic power plant with two fri...
