Most report it to only go 35, downhill maybe 37. It is painfully slow.
If you are okay with these speeds, it's an ultra reliable and efficient scooter.
Fuel injected, liquid cooled and made in Japan.

Re: 5,000 mile maintenance costs?
5000 miles maintenance cost will depend on the level of wear on the bike. For most people, at 5000 miles all you'd have to do is an oil change, which is about 5$ worth of oil (I use Rotella T6). If your tire is worn on the rear, it would cost you anywhere between 40-65$ for a tire. Valves should hav...

Ct125 seems very interesting. If it comes to the US, it would definitely be a bike I will be looking at closely.

Re: Changing Forks oil? Really!
Many big bikes, especially enduro and dirt bikes have drain plugs to drain the fork oil. The oil in the fork gets contaminated when grit and dust passes the seals. Once dirty, oil starts to wear out the fork piston. Oil also breaks down, changes viscosity and prevents the fork from operating with de...

Re: Tire choice?
Just installed the city grip on the back of my 2018. The original OEM IRC had 6500 miles on it... unfortunately it wore unevenly, having a bold spot in one part of the tire. The Michelin seemed to be just as soft as the IRC. I very much doubt that one can feel the difference in traction, otherwise p...

Re: Sta-Bil and fuel economy
The drop you report is pretty meaningless as your real range compared to the long term averages is too high of a ratio. In other words, your results are not statistically significant... Stabil has nothing to do with fuel economy in the setting you described, neither would a difference in gas be dete...

My wife and I comment all the time about these blonde, bimbo housewives with 2 kids driving around with the biggest SUV their husband could buy for them. They need them for what exactly?? You know, you can move your kids around in a much much smaller vehicle. People do it all the time. I will be mo...

Re: Changing Forks oil? Really!
If the motorcycle oil degrades over time, then why do automotive shocks oil last a lifetime, and they support much more weight.? Automotive shocks don't last a lifetime at all. Not sure where would you get kind of notion. The lifespan of a shock absorber depends on many conditions, like surface where...

Re: Ideas for riding in cool weather, and looking good?
$20 budget is way too low to talk about motorcycle gear... I wear a 7 y.o. three season windshear motorcycle jacket and it's been ok. It wasn't expensive, something like 100$ while on sale but it sure helps to make me feel more protected. I have a pair of cortech sequoia pants, but realized they are...

Re: Looking at a 2015 never serviced.
I think even 2500 for a 2015 with 800 miles is a decent deal. They mostly go for 2800 to 3000 around SoCal.
Having said that, I bought a 2018 with 120 miles for 2500, but I had to trailer it from Prescott, Az.

I've had good experience with gel batteries. Current on the second one. First one lasted about 4-5 yrs. For the PCX, I would get the OEM Yuasa, even at a little higher price. The hassle of dealing with weak or poor battery is not worth the savings to me.

Re: PCX150 fuel pump issue
Unlikely fuel pump or ecm to be malfunctioning with 44 miles on the odometer. The question of age of the fuel is extremely relevant given the description. Starting the bike without riding is a sure way to discharge the battery. To diagnose fuel pump, I would follow the repair manual procedures, it's...

Re: Kickstarter. Why isn't it stock on our bikes?
I carry motorcycle jumper cables, it's like a small size book. The reason they don't come with them is that the added cost, complexity and weight does not justify based on the need. The same reason applies as to why we don't have an spare wheel like Vespas used to have, or the kickstarter for a car....

Thanks Mel,
apparently mine was not adjusted enough to hold the wheel.
I turned the adjuster while the parking brake applied and it solved the issue entirely.
Thanks for the tip!

Re: Does your parking brake work? Mine doesn't.
Hmmm, that's strange.
My 2010 Elite and 2009 Metropolitan both had really useful parking brakes that held the bike firmly in place on any kind of hill.
I wonder if the issues with PCX is design or a matter of adjustment.
Hard to accept that it was designed to be useless.

Does your parking brake work? Mine doesn't.
I have a 2018 PCX and ever since I bought it, the parking brake never held the bike in place like other scooters' brakes do. It's not about the drum's adjustment as I can adjust it until the shoes are dragging and barely let the wheel spin and STILL, the parking brake is useless and doesn't apply en...

Re: Lessons of the first 1000 miles
Totally agree with the OP. Riding a scooter invigorates. It's fun, practical. Be careful though, don't speed and don't trust someone will stop when you expect them to, or vice versa. Keeping huge distance to the car in front and being in bright clothing and visible are your essential safety factors.

Can you talk about what maintenance and repairs have been performed on that bike?
