Re: PCX Light (LED model) for Right Hand Drive (UK) conversi
Indeed I've just began talking to him. The other sticking point is the speedo which is in KPH. The regs say a sticker is unacceptable to release a comformity cert (which I take it the vehicle wont have). He says it's modified but not how, I doubt he swaps the integrated unit.

PCX Light (LED model) for Right Hand Drive (UK) conversion
I'm looking to import a PCX 150 from Greece into the UK, which requires a test to ensure the headlight has been converted. Does anyone know if it's settable or whether the unit must be replaced?

Continuing to Nepal and then Thailand. I hear PCX's are cheaper over there.

Drowned it in a river crossing, see the latest video on my website. Started first time despite the hydraulic lock. Awesome little thing.

Re: Round the World on a PCX
I'm in India and my variator belt is making loud noise. It'll snap very soon. Honda Thailand are posting one. Fingers crossed!
Scooter will do 67mph tops with an aftermarket variator and a mich tyre with a smaller diameter. That's your wack but expect 62mph normally.

Re: Round the World on a PCX
All fine from Iran. The scooter needs a new variator belt, hopefully it'll get through India (I haven't checked if PCX parts are available there).

Re: AC PCX RTW: Calling Turkish Istanbul Owners / scooturk.n
The 120/70 city grip is very good, the front I would replace if I were going into wetter climates. Both mine and another riders scooter have been down the road because of the thing in the wet (I got lucky, his PCX was destroyed). My front should reach 15k too.

Fitted a Mich City grip 120/70. Works fine.

AC PCX RTW: Calling Turkish Istanbul Owners / scooturk.net
I've made it to Istanbul :) , I know there was a few people in a group that wanted to meetup but I've lost the details. I'll be sorting the Iran/Pakistan/Indian visas over the next week and can meet most evenings. Could someone repost on scooturk.net as I've been unable to make an account? Also, I'm...

Re: Round the World on a PCX
I went with the US Army Cot Bed and Mossy shelter which goes on top. It's large and a bit heavy (9kg) but very comfortable and practical.

Re: Round the World on a PCX
I wouldn't bother with sealed units, they are too much PITA for use on the bike. Mine is a DIY job. I bought a cheap mount on ebay and cut the flexible wire so I was left with an inch of round plastic. I drilled a piece of aluminium and threaded a bolt to act as a grub screw against the plastic. The...

Re: Round the World on a PCX
The PCX is about 0.5mph behind the GPS regulated trucks at (56mph) so it hardly ever keeps up. I'm putting the aftermarket variator back on at the weekend to fix this (I'd took it off thinking reliability might be an issue).

Re: Round the World on a PCX
The load excluding passenger is below the total recommended, I reckon I've got 50kg of gear tops. It can only be the tyre really, but it's done 6,000 miles now and due to be replaced. I try to avoid getting my knee down anyway!

Re: Round the World on a PCX
Hi, there have only been a few issues; 1. ground clearance is dire and a major problem when fully loaded up, especially with European curbs. The engine mostly survives the impact and it is took by the centre stand. I hit it so hard two days ago the spring came off it. 2. the side stand isn't good en...

Round the World on a PCX
You can always find the latest info/pictures etc on my website: http://www.andrewcharnley.com but I'll update this thread every so often with some of them. The PCX is an awesome machine with the only issue being ground clearance. http://andrewcharnley.com/?resources&module=view&id=344 http:/...
