I changed mine when I bought my (used) scoot; it had just over 3,000 miles on it at that time.
I used fully synthetic Mobil1, 15W-50 for extra shear resistance & a better anti-wear additive package.

P.S. Eiron, get some mirror extenders! Did anyone think of that? Mel? Ah Geez :D LOL, I've got the Honda OEM "Tall" windscreen on the bike, & it comes with new mirror mounts that locate the mirrors farther outboard. I could see past the barrel on the sides, but the barrel was too tall...
