Thanks, I (reluctantly) agree, & decided to go with a bigger box.gn2 wrote:You're unlikely to get jacket and helmet in a 33l box, but one of them could go under the seat.

Re: Shad SH40 Cargo?
I would be afraid to stack stuff too high on a tailbox. I don't think they are able to handle the load plus the wind pressure. I have seen a wider tailbox on a wider base handle a rack on top, but when you go up without going out you will be building an inverted pyramid, with a lot of pressure on t...

Re: Shad SH40 Cargo?
Remember that the 4kg carrying capacity of the box includes anything on the rack. Good point, especially since I've read a couple of Shad reviews that mentioned the box ripping off of its rack mount! Although, I'd imagine the box is flexible enough to remind me not to overload it? I was thinking it...

Shad SH40 Cargo?
I've noticed that top boxes in the range of 33L to 37L seem to be most popular with folks here. I like the sleeker look of the Shad SH33 (and SH39), but the utility of the extra rack on top of the SH40 box seems like a great idea. I might be willing to forego aesthetics in favor of utility. :geek: I...

:D :D Don't wave unless you are carrying a cork. And it's a vacuum cleaner. Hoover was your cross dresser. Don't forget that we've had two Hoovers over here. Herbert was our 31st President (1929-1933), while J. Edgar was director of the FBI (1924-1972) and, now famously, discovered to be a cr...

Re: 2015+ North American PCX150 (LED) Variator Mod Feedback
Okay, thanks for checking chicaboo!
I think I'll probably order a spare set of rollers to keep on-hand, since they're only $11.
One last question:
Has anyone mixed roller weights? The Yuminashi site suggests mixing 3x10g & 3x9g rollers on the 150cc stock engine.

Re: 2015+ North American PCX150 (LED) Variator Mod Feedback
The Yuminashi site you linked says to check/replace the 10g rollers every 1600km/1000mi. Do you plan to do this? No. I have 5000km on them and they're still 10gr. Thanks BPT7594 . I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Do the rollers lose material over time/use? The Yuminashi site gives this stat...

Re: Shell Rotella T6 5w-40 full synthetic generator oil
... if you store it outside change it more frequently as condensation in the crankcase will create hydrochloric acid over time. This is another benefit of dual-rated oils that I neglected to mention - they're typically "over-based" (compared to petrol-only oils) to neutralize the extra ac...

Re: Shell Rotella T6 5w-40 full synthetic generator oil
Iceman , it's not "fully synthetic" by European definition, only by North American (legal) definition. It would have to be classified in Europe as "semi-synthetic". Group III oil is highly-refined (hydroisomerized) petroleum oil which approaches the properties of "true"...

Re: Shell Rotella T6 5w-40 full synthetic generator oil
Actually, T6 is a dual-rated oil, meaning it meets both diesel and petrol engine requirements . There's nothing in there that will damage catalytic converters any more than a petrol-only API SM-rated oil. The advantages to using a dual-rated oil are better detergents, better anti-wear additives, and...

Hi Hugh_Jaz ( )
Do you have a "before conversion" mpg to compare against the "after conversion" ~92 mpg?
Thanks!

Re: Holy cupping Batman!
On my last Honda scoot (a 1980 C70 Passport Super Cub), the 2.25-17 Michelin Gazelle front tire would only last about 2,500-3,000 miles due to cupping. This was due to a bad front shock. Since the tires were only $22 (2006 price, & I could change those tires myself) & a replacement shock car...

Re: Age old question - 87 or premium
As far as I've ever heard/read, the only thing octane level addresses is pre-ignition (knock/ping), not performance. Generally speaking, higher compression engines require higher octane levels to avoid pre-ignition (as increased gas compression inside a hot piston chamber that contains carbon asperi...

Re: Got The PCX Recall Notice Today
What exactly is wrong with the recalled mounting plate.Mine is very strong and I see no reason to change it ?Reasons ?? I don't have the Honda OEM top box mount, but I did get the recall notice. Reading thru it, there appears to be nothing structurally wrong with the mount, but only a potential pro...

In the PCX "How To" sub-forum
I changed mine when I bought my (used) scoot; it had just over 3,000 miles on it at that time.
I used fully synthetic Mobil1, 15W-50 for extra shear resistance & a better anti-wear additive package.
