Re: How do I adjust this Bitubo suspension?
Here's a more lengthy and good explanation on spring rate vs preload. https://www.cycleworld.com/sport-rider/technicalities-spring-rate-and-preload/ "Again, preload does not limit the usable stroke of the shocks at all. Moreover, higher preload usually means that more of the total travel is av...

Re: How do I adjust this Bitubo suspension?
Also, do write a review of those shocks since there isn't much about them on the internets.

Re: How do I adjust this Bitubo suspension?
I think you are talking about adjusting the spring preload. If so loosen it until the spring is loose, then tighten it up a turn. More preload will stiffens the spring up, giving you a higher spring rate, ei stiffer. Less preload will give a softer spring rate, to an extent, but it will also reduce ...

Great work. The RPM at max speed of 65 is interesting. Looks like you need taller gearing.

Re: Upgrading headlight bulbs to LED
I'm with Mel46, there is no direct replacement for the Halogen bulb, so the light pattern will never be right and they will give lots of light glare to oncoming drivers. I had LED bulbs on my scoot for a while, but took them out because they used too many watts and the light pattern was never right....

Re: Ordering From Biker Bits.
I couldn't find HS5 LED bulbs that are lower than 50 watts (I think our headlight bulbs are 35 watt), but there are other options. Maybe you can change the the sockets?? Just a thought. Same here, the HS5 LED bulbs were too bright, pulled to many amps and I couldn't get a good projection out of the...

Re: Excessive Wind Noise Help
Rather than trying to guess which windshield you need to get something you can adjust, buy a medium windshield and put on adj lip. Then you can adjust the flow depending on which way the winds coming and it goes over your helmet. It works perfect for me. https://www.cyclegear.com/parts/puig-windscr...

Re: How many riders do not carry tire repair kits?
I carry an air pump and tire plug kit on my scoot all the time. It's more for convenience, specially after one time that I had to ride my scoot with a close to flat tire to a gas station from out of town, in order to use the air pump. I had the plug kit but no 12v air pump.

Re: NCY parts question
I thought the individual meant that they wanted to install the NCY kit AND also fix their clutch bearing. If the problem is just the clutch bearing, see my second sentence: " Then go into partzilla.com and look up the clutch bearing in the Driven Face and order assembly #8. That contains the c...

Re: Belt Squeal at low speed
At 67,000km your scoot has quite a bit of miles on it. I would check on the play between the variator and the boss. I recently replace the NCY variator because the play was too much. The symptoms that my scoot had was lag in shifting when trying to accelerate. Also the roller weight had uneven wear.

Hello, I installed an NYC Variator, drive face and 14g rollers in my scoot and saw 0 improvement in top speed and didnt appear to have any better acceleration. I didn't catch that you installed the drive face too on your PCX. I wonder if that means that the stock variator and drive face is better t...

Here is the only thing i found comparing years. This is the gearing set from 2013 vs 2018. Definitly different. Hey look at that, the 2019 is even shorter of a gear. Nicely done, look at the final gear for the 2019, it's 43 tooth. So even shorter gearing. The Kitaco gear kit might work with the 201...

Re: 2019 NCY Variator/Drive face upgrade - no improvement at
Some peeps here have mentioned that the newer PCX models have different final gearing. After the 2013, I believe that, the gearing was made shorter and that would limit the top speed that the scoot could achieve with the NCY kit. Not sure though. Does anyone here have any info on the gearing?

Re: 2019 NCY Variator/Drive face upgrade - no improvement at
My local area has a lot of hills, so there aren't that many flat roads where the scoot can slowly speed up to the rev limited speed. My scoot will manage to hit ~71 most days, since the weather also plays a role on the top speed. The few times that I have manages to hit 75 MPH with the NCY kit was w...

Re: 2019 NCY Variator/Drive face upgrade - no improvement at
The outer NCY variator pulley is the one that makes the difference, in regards to top speed. The ramps on the NCY are different and have a different feel. When I installed a new MFR variator kit to replace the NCY I lost the Top speed of my scooter. The outer variator is machined down .7mm. At the s...
