Re: Cold-climate winterization
It looks like I will be able to ride most of this week -- slight chance of rain and temps in the high 50s-low 60sF. Since the four-wheeled Honda has over 200k on the odo, I want to use the PCX for every errand and commute I can until the roads ice over (the Accord does have good tires). My PCX lives...

Cold-climate winterization
The time is approaching when I will have to put the bike away until spring. Those of you in lower latitudes will smirk, put on a sweater and ride right through the winter, but we who tough it out in the Frozen North must store the bike and turn to a four-wheeled Honda until the sun creeps up in the ...

Re: 2015 seat modded for comfort
Congratulations on a very fine job! I did much the same thing, going so far as to remove the hump from the seatpan and glue in a plywood filler. My saddle is a work in progress; I'm sure I'll rebuild it again over the winter.

Re: Great experiences yesterday!
Out of about 30+ bikers I saw whilst out on a run around the countryside yesterday me and my friend (Who also owns a PCX) nearly every one of them gave a nod or a wave, was quite heartening really :) Scots must be more polite and open-minded. Here in tribal USA, the noisy, unhelmeted V-twin tribe h...

What a great idea, WN. Should we petition the forum deity to make it happen, then inform Honda USA and UK to keep an eye on the threads?WhiteNoise wrote:Maybe start a "Dear Honda" thread, where you can list your grievances, wants and what nots?

Re: Great experiences yesterday!
Out on the road here in Wisconsin, home of HD, scooters are considered weenie bikes ridden by weenie riders. Big V-twins outnumber hot Japanese superbikes by a large margin. When I get into the city where I work, I feel a little better -- it's a college town with lots of Vinos, Metropolitans and Ruc...

Re: Seat re-cover
Lol @ designed with Asian riders in mind, I totally get what ya saying, and yes I have the removable one thankfully, cant wait to get it out of the way I suppose it wouldn't be profitable for Honda to make a scooter for tall people. They probably sell 25 scooters in Thailand and neighboring countri...

Re: Seat re-cover
I was on about the bolted hump on the seat rmove the two bolts and hup then just cober them over with the new covering You have the older-style removable hump. My 2015 has a permanent hump in the foam, and beneath it, a molded-in hump in the seatpan. I really love the bike, but it was designed with...

Re: PCX Mileage and driving style
Averaging right around 100 US mpg on a mixed urban/rural commute route. Speeds probably average 40-45mph. Still gathering data, since the bike's new this year.

Re: Seat re-cover
Here's an idea that occurred to me: those of us who find the PCX seat really cramped might consider removing the cover and foam from the seatpan, flattening the seatpan hump, and then affixing a motorcycle solo saddle to the seatpan in a position comfortable to the rider. You'd lose the ability to c...

Re: Seat re-cover
I'm only 5'10", and I found it cramped; at half a foot taller, you must be miserable on the bike. I removed the cover and foam, then cut the hump entirely out of the seatpan and epoxied a flat section of 3/8" plywood in its place. I then cut the foam just forward of its hump, and carved aw...

Re: Cheap lesson: add me to the crash list?
The other day, and today, I saw this thread's title and author. The word "crash" had me moving on and scrolling through assorted topics, I replied to a few but this one kept haunting me. I wondered, How long can I escape reading it? I'm not capable of worrying for long periods I can assur...

Stick him in Homie as a benchmark for a minimum crash. We used to call them a scrumple. youyou has spoken and because his dongle is hanging longer than mine in avatar db22 makes the glorious crash survivor hall of fame. Lets get his scoot touched up and back out there with all the confidence he nee...

Re: Cheap lesson: add me to the crash list?
I went down at 45 mph, and all of my gear worked as advertised    I know this isn't funny to you or anyone for that matter but I have a weird sense of humor and I laughed out loud at the statement. You are like the crash dummy of the PCX forum AND you made the evening TV news! Why ar...

Re: Oil change
I came back to the pcx 24hrs later, the oil level is still over. I then drained a small cup of oil, the level remained the same. Started it up and the engine was more audible so I turned it off. I have now fully drained the pcx on the center stand. Emptied the strainer. According to the pcx manual ...

Cheap lesson: add me to the crash list?
I park my PCX in a private parking ramp my employer owns, since someone tried to steal my old CB550 last year in the public bike parking area. There are several tight turns required to reach the right floor, and in reverse to descend to the street. On the way out this evening, I encountered a car go...

Re: Did your PCX come with tools?
I think I remember seeing some videos of people showing the little tool set that came with their PCX. The only thing that came with my 2016 PCX150 was the helmet strap and a little black case that looks like it should have a tool set in it. I'm guessing the dealership took the tools that came with ...
