Re: Achieving a goal without knowing what you're doing...

I always say, do what works. I must have some condition that forces me to do strange things like this. I think the building of these things is more fun than actually using them or something. I don't really know if my plan for the use of this vacuum-forming machine will work or not, but if it does tu...

Re: 2013 LED Flasher Relay

I just wired in a resistor on each stalk. Not hard to do..Walmart sells the resistors 8.95 for 4 I think I thought about that, but I'm not all that interested in creating a minimum of eight more possible points of failure in my wiring, given that I'm no electrical expert. At a bare minimum, four re...

Re: Headlight switch is reversed

I've found a few sites around the web that have HS5 bulbs, but they vary in appearance so much that I'm a little concerned about the quality. One set I have found that looks really interesting is here on Amazon: http://tinyurl.com/zgtbh9f I like the price, but since there are no reviews and not much...

Re: Achieving a goal without knowing what you're doing...

I've been doing carmon and corbon-kevlar stuff back in time while I was still racing. In fact i have covered most of the cost of racing from producing stuff and building racebikes for others. Be careful with those chemical vapors. They can het you very sick in no time. No "chemical vapors"...

Re: Achieving a goal without knowing what you're doing...

...so are you putting it together or taking it apart?? You may be taking it apart when you should be putting it together. :-/ Without getting too much ahead of myself, I'll be doing a little bit of both. I'm in the process of putting the finishing touches on the workbench in the Lair, which will al...

Re: 2013 LED Flasher Relay

The reason that I put my LED Cree lights on the fork instead of the body of the bike is because you turn your lights where you want to go and the rest of the body eventually follows. I would not want to go into a curve at night with my lights shining straight ahead instead of into the curve. Well, ...

2013 LED Flasher Relay

Well, it arrived today. A couple of weeks ago, I contacted a couple of Honda dealers out of my area, to inquire about LED compliant Flasher Relays. I got some really good info from one mechanic who was filling in in the parts department of one dealer in another state. I filled him in on what I was w...

Re: 03 Burgman 400

First, the "scarcity principle" as it relates to human psychology has nothing to do with whether or not a particular item itself is scarce. It has to do with the person interested in it thinking it's rare, valuable, and that everyone else wants it, so that makes them more likely to impulse...

Re: 03 Burgman 400

The seller of the Burgman was trying to start a bidding war, most likely to inflate his ego. He had tried to trade it in at the local Suzuki dealer and they only offered him $2100 in trade. He thought he was a better salesman than that, and was trying to make it seem like he had a rare jewel. Appare...

Re: PCX brake knob

I would trade hazard flashers for parking brake in a nanosecond. What idiot would require a parking brake on a vehicle that two people can pick up and put in the back of a truck? Hazard flashers I can see as valuable. Parking brake, no. Sounds like something a politician bought off by a corporation ...

Re: 03 Burgman 400

I almost bought a Burgman 400.

2007, guy was asking $3K

Guy wouldn't come off his asking price, and I walked.

He called me two weeks later, three days after I got Natasha, and asked if I was still interested at $3500....

Re: A couple of really odd questions...

Actually, I need to drill three holes in it. I have a clipboard made of aluminum that is just over 0.060. I figured it would be about the right weight and thickness to make a bracket out of, and wouldn't be too terribly affected by the vibration of riding. Steel would be ideal, but I don't know that...

Re: A couple of really odd questions...

Now all I have to do is find some place around here where I can get five pieces of 1" x 5" x 0.060 steel strips. Everywhere I've gone around here said "We ain't gots no scraps, but I'se kin sell ye a whole sheet and cut em fer ye. Whatcha makin ennyway?" Nothing that would requir...

Both of the wires on the power supply were black.

Hence my comment.

This was a really interesting experience.

Thank you all

Red is always "positively red hot".
And if they're both black, you have a 50-50 chance of creating a puff of Magic Smoke!

Re: 2013 parts?

I think you would have to buy a part from a foreign source if you want to make it look like it never was there. HOWEVER....I love that...always another option...I can suggest that you take the panel off, take the turn signal post off of it, and then create a black piece of plastic that will fit wit...

2013 parts?

Okay, this is another one of my on the fly, off the wall, strange questions... The US version of the PCX has stalk turn signals. If you look closely, there is a molded "base" into which that stalk fits, on the rear fender. (Circled in red) My question is, if one were to remove that stalk, ...
