Re: Making the rear brake pads last???
Crazy stuff happens to this scooter pads, mostly the rear ones. Mine was checked and serviced time and again. Yet, the rear pads never lasted more than 10 000km. Even with my rather slowpokish riding style. I've even tried different brands, to no avail. Hell, I've even removed the rear piston's dust...

Re: Jerky and Stalling
Forza's ignition is actually Battery-and-coil type, triggered by a CKP (crank position sensor). CKP is 110 ohms under the right side-cover red plug, but Honda gives no diagnostic code for it, I have no idea why. Any other ignition/injection component having an issue should have the Engine Light auto...

Fish, plus 100Kkm Dave may be right. With no MIL signal mentioned, look for what they say.
If things get more complicated, I have all EFI data, codes and such, all owner available, at the
disposal.
My own wild guess: batt. loose connector.

Re: My new Forza 300
Why 90mph on a new 280cc engine. Are you crazy. I found my own 2014 kinda scary at 75, navermang 90. So I just bought a car and feel a lot safer - what with the countless idiots nowadays overcrowding the roads, all apparently thinking of themselves as modern-day Fangios or such. Ah, also bought a Zu...

Re: New Forza 300 - 1st Impressions
@Oldie, You need not worry about valve adjustment. Mine still had the original shims after 40,000 km. Then those shims are utterly easy to remove/check for thickness/replace if needed : just find approximate TDCC (cam key facing UP), slide rockers sideways, and there they are jumping in your face. C...

The guy did everything right. Well, almost.
Why did he not lube the driven pulley's inner bearings !?!?
Also, shooting aerosol solvent at oil seals is NOT a good idea.
Just another semi-botched job from YouTube, my dear.

Wow, Dave, 95.K !!! And still 'enjoying' it !!! Hell, I used to understand you thought it one crappy money pit, right... Mine hadn't cost me ONE cent in repairs in 3 yrs/ 40,000 km when I traded it for a car - got fed up with draining them clothes 'in the bathtub' haha... I rate the Forza 9.5/10. Bi...

I consider mine's rear a menace with 10,000 kms of put-put-ing. Hell, wouldn't ride it to the corner

Re: All my freeway vibes are gone
I've had my bad vibes, too: - from the clutch at take-off. It turned out I had done a poor job of 'cleaning' the clutch shoes (using cheap sandpaper, finger applied). Emery 80 and a little sandbar cured that. I should have known better. Just a few quick, light passes are enough. - from the rear end,...

Re: F with 7 short flashes
On my 3 recent EFI Hondas, code 7 stood for : Coolant Temp. Sensor. Some models switch to a pre-
determined, 'workable' sensor ohm value when the ECU detects this fault, so the engine may
still function reasonably well, depending on local climate.

Re: The Forza 300 development timetable?
Hi, Dave, Mine's VIN ends with 5000330, model year 2014. BTW I think the water pump oil seal on yours was slightly damaged during assembly (pushing its shaft through must be done very carefully, for it has 2 different diameters). Things like that can happen. It takes about an hour to change that sea...

recommended by one of the morons himself!!!).

Re: Do I have to use MB oil?
Honda manuals are written by lawyers who, bright as they are, mostly copy anything they can get their hands on, hence some bizarre, irrelevant 'warnings'. I have used car energy conserving oil many times in the Forza, no problem. Any good oil that comes cheap on a given day will be just fine (to dat...

Re: Valve head cover bolt broke...
20 FOOT-POUNDS !!! Are you crazy ???
M6 valve cover bolts should be 8-9 foot-pounds, no more.
I think you misread the manual. 20 foot-pounds would be ok for M8 cylinder head bolts, not tiny valve
cover 6mm ones !
