Re: Expectant owner
Welcome! I ride predominantly with an open face helmet. My main helmet is a Roof, which can be used as open or fullface but I only use the fullface option on motorways. I also have a couple of lightweight open face helmets, a Biltwell and a Koji for hot days.

Re: New Member, New PCX
The PCX is a great commuter and mine was one of my favourite bikes of the 30 I have had over the years! In the UK we have a 125 rather than 150 due to learner laws but there are no issues with filtering and so it was a breeze getting through traffic. Mine was a 2017 model and I was getting 130mpg +!...

Re: Old vs New Forza 300
I went to have a look at the new 300 last Saturday. I am 5'6'' and was on my toes to get both feet down but it was easy to have one foot on the board and the other flat on the floor. I have no concerns about pushing it around as I have been used to riding 600lb cruisers so the 300 feels like a pushb...

Re: Extra helmet?
I am happy with open face helmets, although my main helmet is a ROOF, which can be worn as full or open face. If you haven't ridden two up before definitely try it out somewhere safe before going out on the road, as it is very different to solo riding, until you get used to it. I haven't taken a pil...

Back Again
Hi all. The first time I have been on here since last year, when my PCX was stolen from me whilst I was on it! I have been riding my Shadow 1100 since then but I realise that for my current needs (mostly commuting, some longer rides at the weekend) a scooter just makes more sense. I would love to ge...

Re: No more PCX for me
If I had retaliated and injured the attackers the police would prosecute me. This is the reality. Some people I know were attacked in their own home by 3 masked raiders a few weeks ago. This was targeted against them, for reasons that I won't go into. One of them was severely injured by a knife and ...

Re: No more PCX for me
Thanks for all your replies. In the heat of the situation, yes the adrenaline is flowing, but there is also a calmness. My assessment of the situation was that the main attacker was there for intimidation. The potentially more dangerous one was the guy who held back but who would have joined in, no ...

Re: Brake Pad Mileage
My front pads were worn out in 4000 miles! I didn't think I was that heavy on the brakes? I sold my Triumph Speedmaster with about 35,000 on the clock and that still had the original front brake pads!

No more PCX for me
So after 13 months of PCX ownership I no longer have it in my possession. It has been a good 13 months and the PCX has been one of the best two wheelers that I have owned, out of twenty odd bikes over the years. For town transport I believe that it is perfect, with its light weight and manouverabili...

I had my PCX stolen whilst I was riding it! No amount of security is going to help in that situation?

I have been looking at the XMAX 300 as still toying with the idea of selling my Shadow 1100. Would need to test ride it first. Love the look.

Re: Gas tank fill up
In the UK it costs me the equivalent of $10 to fill up. However I am getting a consistent 145 mpg out of my 2016 bike. This has increased from 130 when brand new.

Re: Briefly Considered a Motorcycle
I tried scooters for the first time last year and haven't used my Shadow 1100 since! I do have some work planned on the Shadow and may keep it for longer journeys but I definitely won't return to it as my daily ride.

Re: PCX 125 on the motorway
I treat my PCX as my commuter bike (which it excels at)and haven't attempted using it on the motorway. I still have memories of using an MZ 250 on motorways for a period of about 6 months after my GS550 chop was bounced down the road by a careless car driver (I bounced down the other side of the roa...
