Re: PCX clutch bearing issue
You should have just bought the rear pulley assembly. Its less than $50. Comes with all the bearings and seals. I finally got around to doing the job (well, everything's out, it took around 45 minutes to strip). At just over 8,000km everything still looks like new. Ordered most of the tools from Te...

Re: How-To: Valve Adjustment for Honda PCX
Great explanation and pics!
I'm planning to buy some valve adjuster tools online. What size is the nut and 'square' on the 2012 PCX150 adjusters?

Re: PCX clutch bearing issue
An old thread, but still current. My clutch bearing has been an issue since buying my 2012 PCX150 from the first owner in 2016 (bought in 2014) with only 134kms on the clock (his wife had plans to ride to work on the freeway, but soon changed her mind). The noise is now so bad (while pushing and idl...

Has nobody here set the valves on a 2012 PCX150 before?

2012 PCX150 Valve Adjustment
Can someone please advise on the locking nut and square adjuster size on the 2012 PCX150 inlet and exhaust valves. I want to order a tool from Amazon, some list a 9mm nut/3mm square and others 10mm/3.5mm.
Many thanks.
Many thanks.

Re: Rear wheel spin when on centerstand feels rough
The labor charge in my area is $129 per hour and the local dealer is definitely going to take it to me on the repair. If $129/hour is US Dollars then that equates to R2,154/hour in South African terms, you wouldn't even pay that here for a Ferrari/Aston Martin service. Here we can expect to pay R30...

2012 PCX150 Valve Adjustment Tool?
Greetings! I'm planning to buy some tools for a clutch/drive face bearing job on a PCX150, was also considering getting a valve adjustment tool, I see there are quite a few options. 1. Can someone please advise on the size of the locking nut and square adjuster? 2. What is the size of the holes in t...

Re: 2012 PCX150 Final Reduction Noise?
I can say with certainty that the best way to hear the noise without other noise interference is to turn the bike off, put it on the center stand, and spin the back tire. Go both directions, and if you hear a grinding noise then you can bet the bearings are going. During the 2012 thru 2015 producti...

Re: 2012 PCX150 Final Reduction Noise?
thanks ralph I've given this noise issue some thought. Based on the design, the bearings function as follows: 1. Driven pulley radial bearing: this rotates only when the engine is idling and the scooter stationary; 2. Driven pullet needle roller bearing: this only partially rotates as the driven pu...

Re: 2012 PCX150 Final Reduction Noise?
My 2015 with 7000kms has exactly the same noise as demonstrated in the video link. I had no idea I had a problem. I previously downloaded a PCX150 YouTube video where the rear wheel was spun without the clutch, belts and pulleys installed, it sounded pretty much the same as in the video and was put...

Re: 2012 PCX150 Final Reduction Noise?
Apparently there was an issue with early bearings. What brand were they and which brand should I get to avoid a recurrence of the problem? I can get the two driven face bearings locally ex. Honda for roughly USD30, I may need to get an engineering shop to remove and refit. Should I also replace the ...

Re: 2012 PCX150 Final Reduction Noise?
Search this forum for final drive (clutch bearing noise) and search youtube - the videos show examples of the noise. I had that problem and replaced it with a new bearing assembly and so far been much better but never silent. I think this is your video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwTV35bQgDw),...

2012 PCX150 Final Reduction Noise?
Greetings all! I bought my 2012 PCX150 in 2016 with only 135 genuine kms on the clock, it has now done just under 7,000kms. It has never been abused, I always ride alone, oil changes have been regular, including the final reduction (same MB oil as the engine, as per the manual). From day 1 it has be...

What are the general views about parking on the center stand as opposed to the side stand, to reduce the load on the forks and rear suspension?

Re: Front Suspension Degrade
Don’t let go of the handlebars - but when you’re riding at 35 mph or so and you simply loosen your grip a bit - what do the bars do? Pull left or right? Do the same while also applying first just the right hand brake only, then just the left hand only - what happens ? Be careful when you do this, d...

Re: Front Suspension Degrade
Thanks for all the tips, I'll do all the necessary checks and start trusting those two little rings holding the fork tubes. :) Bear in mind, this is a fair-weather, garaged PCX, with less than 2,000kms on the clock. I bought it at the end of 2016 with 134kms, the previous owner wasn't comfortable us...

Re: Front Suspension Degrade
After 2,000kms the tyres and rims are still like new, pressures are okay. No knocks or looseness in the forks either, no leakage. Pushing down on the forks: compression okay and no bouncing. Maybe I'm just paranoid, especially after seeing a little more the 1" of fork tube held only by the lowe...
