Re: Traffic Light Trigger

Yep, still do it in most places after ten or midnight or wherever there is very little traffic. I have seen it in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands, Sweden and Latvia, too.

Re: Mirror Stem Extenders

Does anyone else here have problems with the stock mirrors on the PCX being able to get decent visibility? Or is it just me? I find they have to be bent as far on their stems nearly as vertically as I can get the stalks for me to get any sort of vision. I am an average height of just over 5ft 9. Ha...

Re: Traffic Light Trigger

In the UK some traffic lights and most of the provisional lights on road works have light sensors. When I approach one before I hit the magnetic inductors I give it a flash with my high beams; when I hit the light it usually already changed to green and I don't even have to come to a full stop. What...

Ok, I understand it is nothing to worry about, then. Just looks rubbish but can be wiped off.

Thank you!

Re: Another "I've just had my first accident" post :(

The London Met BikeSafe had a ScooterSafe training, don't know about the other forces though. IAM should really have a program for the 125 riders, too, but I guess they do not. Some of the guys showing up for the monthly free assesment day with a full bike licence on a big bike were so out of confid...

Rust or what?

Hello, my scooter is sitting in the garage for most of the time, getting used for a few short trips to town running errands. Its got less than 600 miles on the clock! Yesterday I took it out for a run into town and noticed this rust on it! Did you guys have the same on your bikes? Is that really rus...

Re: Another "I've just had my first accident" post :(

Hi there, first and foremost: Happy you got away with it. However I do see a disproportional high number of accidents in this forum, way more than I did see in the F800 rider forum. Given that there probably are a lot more new riders on here, I may understand that even the most basic rules of riding...

Re: accident.

Memory can fail and given recent experience of my niece who doesn't remember much of the entire day she got hit on her head, I do not believe we can make any conclusions from the statement of a victim who just had a concussion! All we know is that accidents are no coincidences but usually a series o...

Re: accident.

I've been a member on here for about 4 months but lost all my login details so i've made a new account. I was involved in an accident on my scooter last week, in my eyes i was incredibly lucky and managed to come out of it with only a few broken/bruised ribs, concussion and pain in my back and neck...

.
In a polite way can I say Get A Life and to hell with what your mum wants!
I wouldn't be that extreme. Still: Any decent mother wants the best for her child and of course is afraid of it getting hurt. This will last a lifetime! I take into account what my mom tells me, and think if...

The most miles per tank

Greetings everybody! Just had one of those lightbulb moments at work :-D Knowing how incredibly cheap I run around on my PCX, I don't really care much about how much it costs me to fill up. What I am curious about though is to know what would be the utmost in tank range on it and how to get it! I im...

Re: Scooter Apron/skirt

I just picked them up to protect my knees a bit more from the cold, and to keep my work pants from getting really wet during rain. I think I would get more razzing from my motorcycle riding co-workers if I rode to work with a "skirt" on, compared to wearing chaps. :) Just say your grandfa...

Re: Handlebar muffs potential dangerous?

I will sure use the car or walk on snow or ice, still it can get pretty cold even without both of them. Those muffs I got are pretty standard, can't really adjust them in any way I am afraid.

Funny but I had that yesterday! I thought it must come from the foul grass along the road, though.

Re: Premium brand petrol or supermarket fuel?

From my experience of two hour long trips on the M4 motorway with the PCX, even two up and flat out all the way, my worst mpg under such condition was 87, or 3.3L/100 km. My average under all conditions is 100 mpg (2.8L/100km), which I also reached yesterday even on the motorway if I do the same spe...
