Re: Sharing Halloween
Thanks for the pics White Noise. Looks like everyone is having a great time, and I'm sure it got ecxciting for the children as it got darker. My partner is just back from a visit to Florida. Seems like a very different world to the EU. Sometimes I struggle to compare our notions of freedom. There ar...

Maybe resize it on your laptop using your photo viewer. 800 pixels on the long edge is usually good if you think that most devices are HD and between 1080 and 1920 pixels on the long end.

Re: Sharing Halloween
Some homes make an effort and put on little tableaux so you know which homes to call on for treats. Took my 6 year old son out this evening in costume and then for a walk along the Blackpool 'Illuminations' which is an end-of-tourist-season big deal around here and finishes this weekend. Halloween o...

I'm ahead of myself! Give it another 5 years. Then I'll be in NW UK (England & Wales).gn2 wrote:NW UK?
You can't be saying lies like that.
NW England is where you've been.

Armospheric. In rural Ireland, the casual nod to a passer-by on a day like that, to frame the all round wetness of everything in a positive light would be 'Soft day...thank God'.

It's a good video. He's got better control of his bikes on tight maneuvers than I do.fish wrote:Maybe the safest way to turn around when riding up a hill?Fish

Thanks! Will do Old Grinner. I'm digging the pics of the X-Max by the way. She looks very comfortable indeed. I loved seeing those bikes all over SW France in 2018 and if I ever upgrade, I'd be looking at that model first.

Nice photos....very clear air there! Do you rinse the scooter after riding in sea water, or is that river water? Speaking as a fan Fish, thanks :D !! Yes. Rode very slowly through that salt water and a wash down afterwards. Although my front garden looks sheltered there, it's just a few hundred yar...

Autumn ride, NW UK
Had our first frost this morning NW UK. But it turned into a beautiful day and I wasn't working, so headed out for a few hours. Down by the Irish Sea and then along the River Wyre Estuary & Park. It was warm in the sun. The wet road is from a high-tide a little earlier at a place called Skipool ...

Re: heavy mist ride
Yeah, your issue has a lot to do with why I remove all tall screens from my scooters. I never ride behind one - no matter the cold. Fish Luckily I'm on the coast and we rarely get drizzle here because it's just too windy. Maybe once or twice a year. I use the tall screen to keep the constant gale o...

This is the weather I dread with the tall Givi. I can see over it for traffic, but it blocks my vision for oil or other subtle debris on the road.

My 2017 hit a high (for me) of 161mpg on the dash this week, but I'm in the habit of over-filling.

Re: First relatively long ride: impressions
Thanks, but checking the link you provided shows that they do not ship to the U.S. And I am afraid that this would raise the height of the seat just enough to make my wife feel unsteady. I may just have to find a local shop that can modify the height and padding material of the stock seat. The PCX ...

After an accident with some nerve contusion and a lot of numbness, I bought one of these as a temporary measure: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tucano-Urbano-Cool-Fresh-Scooter-Seat-Cover/192898156571?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 It's a cheap solution if you're only occ...

Can you get this anywhere over there? Oxford Motorbike Motorcycle CV217 Aquatex Highscreen Topbox Scooter Cover. I have with the tall screen 'flap' (not the box section). It's alright. Quite light really - no aluminium strip for the exhaust, so have to wait until she cools down. It easily fits over ...

Re: Givi D1130ST issues
I have this screen and the top of it flexes slightly in the wind and above 35. It is a tall, narrow, lightweight screen, so it's fairly inevitable. I don't find it a problem but I sit back in the bike and look over the screen onto the road. If I wasn't as tall, I wouldn't be able to ride with this s...

Re: Service intervals/costs
I'm not much of a tinkerer with my bikes. I budgeted for between £100-£150 per service in the UK for my PCX at 600, 4000, 8000 miles from what I remember. This for me matched the 2-year warranty period. At the 8,000 mile service I needed the front brake caliper and pads replacing and some other work...

Re: Service intervals/costs
If it's under warranty it's sometimes worth it. Honda found a flaw in both my Vision 110 and PCX that would have cost > £300 to repair each time. Because the bikes were still.under warranty, it was free. Head races in both cases.
