Re: Valve clearances on a new 2018 PCXneeded adjustments
Chances are if you ran it another 1-2k, they would self clearance. lol. Just wondering ..... have you ever experienced loose or tight valve clearances naturally correcting themselves over time? Not being critical, just curious if this can occur. My experience has been that prolonged incorrect gaps ...

Re: Buzzing vibration sound heard when travelling at 30 to 40 mph
Just a thought - you’re sure it isn’t something loose under the seat - right ? Also, maybe remove the exhaust and shake it around - tap it a bit - to see if something drops out at either end.

Re: Coolant in engine?
If coolant is getting in the engine oil, there are typically several symptoms. 1) The oil will almost always have the color of "coffee with cream". 2) if it's getting in via a failed head gasket, the coolant will get blown out from the overflow tank due to being pressurized from combustion...

Re: 2016 Honda PCX 150 valve adjustment
I would easily live with the cosmetic impact required to have some easy sort of removable access panel(s) for PCX valve adjustment / access. Having to remove all the bodywork is just plain stupid IMHO.

Code: Select all
Also keep in mind that this bike uses JS head screws, not PhillIps Head. That makes a difference when the screw is stubborn.

Re: Transmission vent question
If you're referring to the clear approx 3/8" diameter tubes that extend toward the rear, the originals were pinched at the end to allow pressure out but prevent inflow - acting like a PCV valve or kazoo of sort . You could probably get replacements cheap somewhere, just a short clear tube pinch...

What’s the oil level look like? Put a bit on your fingertip - if it tastes sweet it’s coolant. Have you done any work to the scoot recently ?

Re: Scooter Cannonball Run - Its a real thing!
As of end of Friday in S.Dakota, an SMax 155 is leading the cannonball followed by a Vespa 150. Forzas are in 7th, 8th, 11th, 13th ..... ADV150s are in 22nd, 23rd & 25th. You can look at the website to get the others. I wish I was younger and had the ability to participate.

Re: Scooter Cannonball Run - Its a real thing!
Interesting that the rules call for wheels to be no more than 10 inches, which is smaller than the wheels on the PCX, yet it says PCX's are included in the group that is competing. I wouldn't attempt riding this much for so many days in a row even on my new Can Am Spyder RT, let alone on my PCX150....

Re: Oil change
I'd simply change whatever oil is in the PCX and add new. Just siphon out all the oil you can - siphon from the dipstick opening like You-You does - and then add fresh oil until the proper level shows on the dipstick. I'd just do this ongoing rather than fussing with a stuck drain plug which might b...

Re: WOT for a full tank...
I'm not positive but I think it was the Honda Helix & Reflex 250 cc scoots that were known to sustain Wide Open Throttle highway travel without harm. Was that due to conservative carburation or small valves that restricted RPMs ? I know the RaceSaver 305 c.i. Sprint Cars adhere to rules that lim...
