Re: Looking for battery for 2018 Honda PCX 150
Worked fine for me. As I said before mine is a 2016. Your choice. :D I found a YTZ7S on Amazon and called the seller (in Canada) and he said that he would not recommend YTZ7S for the PCX150. Get the new replacement battery. Since then I finally found the answer!!!! The GTZ8V is a Sealed WET Cell Ba...

Re: Yuasa GTZ8V vs YTZ8V Battery
Finally found answer!! The GTZ8V is a Sealed WET Cell Battery. It has been discontinued and replaced with the YTZ8V that is AGM!!! It should last 2-3 times as long as the wet cell version. The few GTZ8V batteries I have found must be left over stock and OLD. Do Not Purchase. I will be getting the ne...

Re: Looking for battery for 2018 Honda PCX 150
I bought this - has been great in my 2016 PCX https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01317OPHW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I came across that one (KMG YTZ7S Battery Compatible with Honda 150 PCX150 2013-2014 ) a couple of years ago when I purchased the GTZ8U before being replace...

Re: Yuasa GTZ8V vs YTZ8V Battery
I have a 2016 PCX150 and and replaced the HONDA OEM battery with a GTZ8V and it has been great, but due to COVID,.... it has set too much and not charged properly. I tried to purchase a replacement GTZ8v that i paid $52 (USD) in 2018, but it appears to no longer be available in the US. The sister Y...

Looking for GTZ8V battery for 2016 Honda PCX 150
If you look at my previous, I purchased the GTZ8V battery and it has been great, but due to Covid, little use and even worse little charging. Rest state apx 12.55 Vdc now and from past history before i take it "out" again, I would like to locate a decent replacement without going to the Ho...

Re: Battery charging - a few questions
When you later disconnect the cables, a spark can detonate the hydrogen gas (& battery being charged). That's why every single written procedure I've read, mechanics' courses, and shop etiquette all require connecting an appropriate wire to frame AWAY from the battery. For the same reason, it's...

Re: Battery charging - a few questions
Battery to Battery Red to Red Black to Black BTW I saw an alien yesterday so it must be true, it is now on the internet. In the marine industry it is called Dock Talk - translated (Bravo Sierra) Simple battery to battery If the battery ground is no good, the black to metal WILL NOT WORK. It wouold ...

Re: Top Luggage Box
I noticed that the rear wheel spins on tick over when on the centre stand.... Yes - it may not be obvious to some, but because there is no actual neutral (constant variable Transmission), the wheel will turn (slowly) because there is no resistance to its movement like when it is on the ground off t...

Re: Top Luggage Box
It can, but it might look a little silly. Also, be aware of balance and your CG (Center of Gravity). Too much weight on the back will lift the front wheel. The PCX seems very front end heavy when its sat on the centre stand.....is that so it keeps the back wheel off the ground when the engine is ru...

Re: Check engine light PGM-FI
Reverified problem. Awoke early to catch first light atop Cadillac mountain in Acadia National Park in Bar Harbour, Maine. Every thing completed, ready to, turn the switch, watch the needles over and back and the CE light never went off. With jumper cables under the seat standard now, 5 minutes late...

Re: New battery
I bought this one on Amazon over a year ago. Works great still. never had an issue: Snap 2019-06-07 at 13.14.49 (Small).jpg That's the 6ah one I mentioned - thanks for the feedback. I realize that it was not as strong as the 7ah OEM or the lithium one another suggested, but for the lower price I fe...

Re: New battery
This is expensive however I always like to have much more reserve capacity and cranking amps (210CCA) than what is called for. Going on two years now, it is 60% lighter/40 % smaller than the OEM battery. Twice the strength. Comes with foam blocks to make the fit perfect. https://www.amazon.com/gp/p...

New battery
After diagnosing my check engine light problem to needing a new battery, I'm probably getting the OEM replacement GTZ8V 7ah 120 cca apx $55 vs the GSX7L 6ah 85 cca $35. The latter is probably for the rukus. Any feedback appreciated if other options.

Re: Check engine light PGM-FI
Update I let the 150 sit overnight- resting voltage before anything was 12.71. It started, but I did notice it was somewhat of a weaker sound than I am used to. After start, the voltage was 12.55. So I am confident that the battery was the cause for the CE light even though it is not documented anyw...

Re: Check engine light PGM-FI
What is the resting voltage? Is it Above 12.0 w/ engine off? Also you might want to pull the battery and take it to any auto parts store , and they can do a “load test”. This is not a voltage test. A charged resting battery should be 12.8 to 13.2 Vdc. I'd be looking for a new battery below 12.5-12.7.

Re: Check engine light PGM-FI
Fyi, I'm technical and happen to be a battery retailer as one of my businesses. Thanks for the replies. I could do detail analysis if I were home, but on the road I don't have access to my equipment or resources. I was wondering if anyone had actually seen this situation before. Once I finally resol...
