Re: How many nations (countries) are represented by riders h
Texas. Our tourism slogan used to be, "Texas...it's like a whole other country." So, I'm just gonna claim nation-status.

Re: Gear and Putzing Around Town
Off topic...Givestrong, where in France are you? My wife and I dream of visiting that area someday.
On topic...My minimum riding gear is full face helmet, armored jacket and motorcycle gloves. I do wear shorts in hot weather if I'm not going more than 35-40 mph. I need some mesh pants.

The PCX is the first scooter I've ever owned. I love it! I'm not sure if i will go back to motorcycles again. Simple to run and maintain. Inexpensive. What more could I want?

Re: what do you think about a fitted bed sheet for a cover?
Please don't. Buy a cover and be done with it. A fitted sheet will look silly, won't protect, might singe on your muffler,, blow off...the list goes on.

Re: Installed Givi rack and case
Now consider getting a taller windshield. It will make a lot of difference in ease of control and comfort. Also, would you mind going into your profile and adding the year and color of you bike, please? I've thought about a taller screen but do most of my riding in 35-45 zones. I'm not sure I "...

Installed Givi rack and case
I ordered the Givi SR1136 rack and E340NTA case for my PCX. The rack was very easy to install. I removed the cover and left it off since the rack hides everything. No drilling. The case seems like a good fit. Not too big, not too small. My son's 17" laptop fits easily.

Re: Howdy and a question UPDATED!!
Update: I traded my motorcycle for a new, 2017 PCX today! I missed two used bikes but traded even on this leftover 2017, so I'm ok with that. Besides, I really like the dark blue color. It is a fun machine. My son rode it around the neighborhood for a few minutes and declared it to be awesome. I'm g...

Re: Howdy and a question
I'm also envisioning You riding it just as much as your son. "Coin Toss?" Until he has taken the MSF course he will only be allowed to ride around in a parking lot and our low traffic neighborhood. No highways or busy streets. So, yeah, I will be taking it out. I am seriously considering ...

Re: Howdy and a question
Please do consider that your son takes the MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) course. Very important no matter what you ride. :geek: Absolutely. In Texas if you take the MSF course you are not required to take the written and riding test to get a motorcycle/scooter endorsement. Very handy. It is st...

Re: Howdy and a question
Howdy and welcome :) I'm looking at 125-170cc scooters for him. Quick question, have you asked him what sort of bike he wants? What? do you think the kid is an idiot? Not want a PCX?? :D Well, he is a 19 yo male. So, there's that. I will be happy to ride it, too. The FZ is a fun ride but I re...

Re: Howdy and a question
Howdy and welcome :) I'm looking at 125-170cc scooters for him. Quick question, have you asked him what sort of bike he wants? A fair question. My son is a 19 year old student at Texas A&M University. Yes, we have talked about them and looked at/sat on many. The scooter we rented was a 50cc Gen...
