Re: Memories 1969 ?? Today

I've been to Woodstock NY before. . .. Nice little town nestled away from the Big Apple. I foolishly thought it was where the big music festival was back in August of '69 and found out that it had taken place in Bethel NY. So on my next trip I visited this place. . .. https://www.bethelwoodscenter.o...

Re: I got scared

The Scottish Dr McDowell in his green & blue tartan was a twit with no bedside manor. Very annoying.
Those McDowells come from a long line of healers.

Re: It's Raining......

Those big, wide streets were once farm roads, 30 years ago. Now our little subdivision is within walking distance from major intersections, shopping centers, and new million dollar homes being built in upscale neighborhoods. The back of our subdivision backs against one of the largest upscale neigh...

Congratulations! Keep practicing, though. I feel like I'm practicing every time out, and also feel that I am invisible.

Re: I got scared

I got scared yesterday and changed my rear tire. It was down to the wear bars but my adopted mother's Scottish ancestry says that it could have gone another 1000 km. I had 15454 km on the 150/70-13 Michelin CityGrip rear tire. My previous one I went to 16121 km before it got changed. Yeah. . .know ...

Re: Yam XMAX-anyone got one? Opinions?

The Yamaha XMax and the next Honda Forza were on my short list if I ever decided to downsize and sell my old KLR and Bandit and have a scoot that could do some distance (be freeway legal/capable) for a reasonable price. Although I have some issues with the location of the horn and turn signal switch...

Re: Zuma 125

Just over 200 miles on it now. . .. Runs great. Not the acceleration of the PCX 150 but ample. Start it up cold. . .wait a minute for the oil to quiet the valves, twist and go. The valve noise is discernable. . .not obtrusive. . .and the valve clearance will be checked at the recommended 600 mile ma...

Re: Today's Quick Pic

No thanks! Even using his horn, he was dodging bicycles and people, and all sorts of traffic that didn't have a particular lane. It is bad enough when traffic is generally flowing in the correct direction, and generally obeying the law. Don't add cows to the mix, or people just wandering around in ...

Re: It's Raining......

Well, yesterday I attached a dashcam to my bike. Now all I have to do is ride, sometime. I rode it around the block to make sure that the video from it was viewable, thinking that the vibration would be too much, but it seems fine. I will have to take it on a longer ride to really test it. If you d...

Heavy traffic is one thing but this is definitely multidimensional (which way? how many lanes are there really? cross walks not!) adding to potential fear and bad dreams and a ringing in your ears from all the horns. o_O  8)

Re: Wow, I forgot what it’s like to have power!

Yes. . .the PCX is all you need for just about anything non-Interstate or 60+ MPH. But having that rocket ship back in the barn for those days you have the need for speed is just awesome isn't it? Plus it's a great conversation piece at parties. . .nice to be able to say "and I also have a . . ...

Re: PCX Security ??Really.. How to get it back!

Sad situation indeed. It's good they were able to recover it and will possibly find the culprit with further investigation. The best thing you can do is have layers of security that will cause a thief to have to take too much time to steal a bike/scooter. If it's alarmed and there's a lot of noise t...

2018 Forza 125/300 Video

The following video gives a pretty good description of the current/new Honda Forza 125 and 300 versions as sold in Europe. Good closeups of the features. Plenty to amuse the techno geeks out there. :D

Re: don't trust your "right of way" to save your day

To be really effective these high school courses need to be pointed with a video composed of police photos of the immediate aftermath of car-bike collisions. And of car-motorcycle collisions. And, to be inclusive, of car-pedestrian and finally car-car collisions. Very hard to watch but it sticks wi...
