Re: Noob in Need of the expert advice!!
I think it's fair to say that the PCX has a reputation for being an exceptionally solid and reliable bike. I got mine new (2014 model in 2015) and it's currently at 69,000km and hasn't ever really missed a beat (apart from an occasional "own goals ..."). I'd buy another in the blink of an ...

Re: Ankle Biter
Personally, I'd be concerned about running the clutch assy without the left hand end of the shaft being supported (The original CVT cover has a bearing that the shaft is supported by).

Re: PCX versatility
I treat mine as a workhorse. I've done day trips of several hundred miles - used it as "dad's taxi" for daughter (inc out of town pickup) - use it for delivering things for clients (can strap a pretty big box on the back if I take off the soft box (the grab rail is a good anchor point for ...

Consider giving yourself a "tinkering time budget" - say, an hour a day. It's amazing how a little time consistently applied quickly adds up.

Re: my pcx stalls when I open the throttle(once a time per 2
What i found out is that honda changed the piston oil ring seat on the piston with some new holes in the piston, just like it should have been from the start...for example my piston was clogged there and the oil seal on the piston was stack and that was the main reason for the excess oil burn. I di...

Re: my pcx stalls when I open the throttle(once a time per 2
that's strange!!!, are you really sure? Turns out I was wrong about that - I thought I'd read it in the manual. When my dealer said that 30,000km was "really high mileage" for a scooter I'd probably misprogrammed my brain to think that the odo topped out at 99,999 when I read 990,000. Tha...

Re: 20000 miles today.
43,125 miles / 69,000km for me. Book says to change the oil every 5000 miles / 8000 km, but I do mine at 2500 / 4000. No significant issues either other than tyre dramas (which aren't Honda's fault). Great. What year? Got it in 2015 - officially it's a 2014 model - but I usually have to specify 201...

Re: A speedometer problem you maybe haven't heard of before
Mine over-reads by 10% but apart from that it's been flawless. I've worked around that area of the bike (but not inside the speedo) - if you're mechanically minded it would probably only take a couple of hours to strip it down enough to get in there and fix it. I also find that I can judge what spee...

Re: Engine seems to start slower than usual
+1 for the battery. Just be aware that they can deteriorate pretty quickly from there meaning that "you ain't going nowhere" (to use some frightfully bad english). I got about 4 years out of my OEM one. Also be aware that there's often quite a variation in prices; I got my replacement from...

Re: Now, you're talking
it would be much weight for me to balance at stops. Might be a good bike for a younger guy I know what you mean - I tried balancing a Gold Wing once at the dealers - ye gods they're heavy. I suspect it's more "practice and technique" than "brute strength", but it would make me n...

Re: PCX 125 Died Mid Ride
Never changed the air filter and picked this scoot up with just 2k miles on the clock but checked today and it at least "looked" to be in good condition. I can't get it off at the pipe to check because the screw that holds the jubilee clip thing in place has no thread to latch onto, but t...

Ah - OK - mine stops at 99,999.babisbabou wrote:well NO the speedo does not stop at 99k,i guess at 999k.
It can idicate 500.000km for example
I'd be interested to know a couple of things if you don't mind? What's your oil consumption history like and have you had to replace any wheel or engine bearings?

Re: my pcx stalls when I open the throttle(once a time per 2
yes mate, 195.000km had some rebuilds like transmission x3,piston once, variator x3 That's impressive. I'd previously heard of one that was 140,000+km, but not 195,000. Given that the odometer stops at 99999 have you replaced that, found a way to reset it, or are you just counting the number of time...

Re: PCX 125 Died Mid Ride
Unfortunately "not very mechanically minded" and ""check the valve clearances" are fairly mutually exclusive IMO. I am pretty mechanically minded and even I won't go near valve clearances with a barge pole. So from what you're saying it does fire up ... but barely? That's so...

Re: PCX choking under load sometimes
Not sure on your laws but in my parts you'd have an excellent case for getting the dealer to put it right regardless of the warranty status on the basis that it's fairly obvious that it had a serious undisclosed issue when they sold it to you - so they've in essence sold you a lemon (deliberately or...
