Another Seat Cover Option, Sit-N-Fly
I used to have this on the V-Strom I recently sold. It fits my 2013 PCX fairly well. These Sit-N-Fly covers are better for summer months because it's a mesh that allows air flow under your behind. It does provide some cushioning but it feels like sitting on wire mesh if you wear thin pants. It does ...

Re: My New Cheeky Seat
These scooter seats are a challenge. The manufacturers wanted plenty of under-seat storage space while still providing comfort to the rider. They're not like a bread-loaf seat on a 1960's Honda. I've watched some videos on sculpting seats, but I'm not sure if I want to go through all that.

Re: My New Cheeky Seat
I'm still tinkering with this seat and I'm getting there. I hacked off those two humps (see photo in album). Those had to go. I got some high density foam from Joann's Fabrics, but it's still too soft. I need something like thin closed cell foam from a yoga mat or something. https://photos.app.goo.g...

Re: My New Cheeky Seat
Today I put some Reflectix ( https://www.reflectixinc.com/ ) under the cover. I had lots of scraps around the house so I didn't have to spend any money. It's like 2 layers of bubble wrap. It helped a little. I took the scooter out for about 15 miles, and it felt much better. Not as good as the Kawas...

Re: My New Cheeky Seat
My seat's becoming tolerable, but it still needs a little tweaking. There's still room between the seat and cover to put a little more foam in.

Re: Top Luggage Box
My generic rack arrived today from China. It went on pretty well. A stepped drill bit worked well for cutting the holes in the plastic seat rail cover after I drilled small pilot holes in the center of the indentations. My box is a Pelican-style Chinese knock-off from Harbor Freight. I already had i...

Re: My New Cheeky Seat
These are those bumps I was telling you about: There's an expansion crack about every 20-30 meters. They're not so bad in the car or on a bigger motorcycle, but they shake you up pretty good on a small scooter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8n9IvZKYEn8&t=26s

Re: My New Cheeky Seat
I got the scooter out for a short test ride today, and the seat cover made a big improvement. I also got a thank-you email from Cheeky Seats today and they suggested adding even more padding, like stuffing rags down into the little holes and putting cardboard over it. I use cardboard to cushion my k...

Re: My New Cheeky Seat
Thanks Oldie. That's a padded seat cover from Cheeky Seats. It feels good when I'm just sitting on the scooter. Today's supposed to be a nice day so I'll go try it out over some bumps. I still have to smooth out some wrinkles.

My New Cheeky Seat
My new seat cover arrived today, and it went on pretty easily. I haven't road-tested it yet, but tomorrow's going to be a nice day weather-wise. The seat has been my only beef with this scooter, and hopefully this will be a big improvement. I'm having fun exploring short cuts through town and avoidi...

Re: Here Comes Another Noob
I ordered a padded Cheeky Seat cover today, but I'm still concerned about those raised bolt holes poking me in the behind. I may dremel out some of that plastic, pop-rivet in some sheet metal straps, and fill it in with foam. Where would be a good local place to look for foam of the right density wi...

Re: Here Comes Another Noob
I took a look at the the humpectomy thread and it looks doable. I'll live with the hump for now (it feels better with the hump than without) and maybe save it for a winter project. I believe they put the hump there to put the riders' weight right where they wanted it. My first fill-up got me 91 mpg,...

Here Comes Another Noob
Hi, I recently picked up a 2013 black PCX. I've had dozens of bikes from 100 to 1200 cc over the years and a couple 2-stroke Vespas, but I'm getting old and downsizing. I can get on and off this without throwing my hip out. I'm liking this little scooter. I rarely leave town anymore and I'm having f...
