Re: headlight replacement

The bulb comes out as a screw would come out. (c. clockwise] Some rubber gloves or a strip of tire tube wrapped will protect your fingers and give you better results. Had the same issue as you.............perseverance will get you there. Need that protection for the fingers though. perhaps it's dif...

Re: headlight replacement

150pcxr, Thank you for the reply. The previous instructions I have found on this site said to push and turn counterclockwise. So you are saying to turn Clockwise and NO push? I will give that a try. There is so little room that I can't get a good hold on the bulb connector base. I have tried multip...

Re: headlight replacement

Hi Everyone I am new to this forum. I have a 2013 Honda PCX 150. The Lo beam headlights went out a year ago. I switched on Hi beams which worked but now they went out. The Honda dealer charges $70 a bulb plus shipping. So I ordered some replacement bulbs from China for $10. Unfortunately I can't re...

Re: Is this too much engine oil?

The reason why it appears to you that I over-think about this issue is because since February this year when I started this thread until now, no one has any clue as to why this phenomenon is happening to my bike. The mechanics have no idea, neither does anyone on this forum know either. I can't say...

Re: Is this too much engine oil?

Honestly, you're over-thinking this FAR too much. Mine does exactly the same thing. My bike is up to 50,000 miles now and burns a bit of oil between changes (which I do myself). When you do a change drain everything out - rock it on the centre stand - put in 800ml - and don't even bother checking i...

Re: Is this too much engine oil?

Sounds like someone has trouble reading the oil level. The dipstick may be getting some oil on in from contact with the walls. Only the hashed section is what needs to be read. Hard to explain to an inexperienced person. They got to be able to tell the difference on the dipstick between smears and ...

Re: Is this too much engine oil?

So I went to the workshop to change engine oil. The mechanic drained out the old oil and I then put the dipstick in, pulled it out and yes, it showed that the oil level was empty. The mechanic then put in exactly 800ml of new engine oil. Again, I put the dipstick in, pulled it out and the level was ...

Re: The best upgrade to my PCX so far, bespoke seat.

After a Bamboo tree fell and tore my seat last week. I took it to a local shop in Bangkok and somehow my hand signals, pointing and saying thank you lots (in Thai) meant I now have this beauty. There is no bump, no more being thrown off the seat and the added height in Bangkok traffic is the best a...

Sound heard when sitting and bouncing on the seat

Hi all,

I'm sitting on the seat and bouncing up and down, so as to make this sound appear. Does anyone know what's wrong here?

Thank you.

Re: Is this too much engine oil?

And injector leaking is only one thing that can make oil. There are others. One of the other ones is the bike runs too cold, therefore the computer thinks the engine is warming up and adds the choke on. Incomplete combustion causes blow by the piston rings and into the oil. I've just replaced the f...

Re: Is this too much engine oil?

Smell the oil, does it smell like gas? Yes I was just about to tell you about it. I smelled the oil on the dipstick. It did indeed smell like petrol. Maybe we're on to something. Perhaps I should follow your advice and order a new fuel injector. Does the oil seem thinned out like there's fuel in it...

Re: Is this too much engine oil?

Check temp, replace thermostat-check for ecu faults If you are absolutely sure that you are putting in the right amount of oil after completely emptying the machine with a good drain, and the level is still going up, I would test the oil with Blackstone and find out exactly what is being added to t...

Re: Is this too much engine oil?

. It doesn’t take much gas at all to lower the viscosity of the oil, especially since the amount of oil in the scooter is small. A leaky injector can cause bearings to go bad, get the injector checked as soon as possible. All you need to do is pull it out of the bike, put it on the bench for a test...

Re: Is this too much engine oil?

I can’t say much about a sniff test. But if the bike is starting and running fine, I would not worry about it. If fuel were getting into the oil, then logic tells me the bike would be starting and running poorly. Thats what happened when the an injector went bad in my gravel truck. google tells me ...

Re: Is this too much engine oil?

Very strange. So I went to the workshop to get the old oil drained out and put in new fresh engine oil. I told the mechanic to put in 800 mls, which he did. After which, I went for a ride for about 20 kms then stopped for a break. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I took out the dipstick to check...

Re: Is this too much engine oil?

A fuel injector that is stuck wide-open will add gas to the crank case oil…known as “making oil” -google it….. ok I get your point about the fuel injector. Just yesterday I've already used this syringe to take out some of the engine oil as pictured. Then after which, I put the dipstick in without s...

Re: Is this too much engine oil?

After these few months, I still have this problem of high oil level on my dipstick.

I've always ensured the mechanic put in just 800 ml during each oil change.

Could anything else be the cause?

Could fuel be mixing into the oil pan or something?
