Re: Got my first and new scooter! PCX150!
I believe i found the problem. I found my receipt from my last oil change and they put GN4 10w40 in it! I just ordered HP4M 10w30 and will have it changed by end of next week hopefully, so we'll see then.

Re: Headlamp type
That is quite disappointing. Anyone know of an easy retrofit, or adapter to use standardized bulbs?

Re: Headlamp type
I've been wondering too. I'm getting the impression it is not a standardized bulb/connector.

Re: Got my first and new scooter! PCX150!
Cessna, that speed decrease is from belt wear, not oil weight. As the belt wears down, it gets narrower, making the bosses in the CVT closer together and resulting in more torque with less speed. A new belt will get you back up to speed. :) If that were true, wouldn't i be able to hit the limiter e...

Re: Oil change short story
Unless your enine isn't runnin correctly and you are having loss of power than I wouldn't get the valve adjustment done either. It is quite expensive and can eliminate the fuel savings compared to driving a fuel-efficient car. After watching some youtube videos i decided to adjust the valves myself...

Re: Got my first and new scooter! PCX150!
I put almost 5k miles on mine now. I'm 6'2" and really feel the wind when riding on the highway. Unlike maddiedog, i can never hit the limiter unless i'm going down hill. Max speed for me is about 61mph unless i'm going down a good hill at which point i hit the limiter at 67mph. Something odd t...

Re: Bike security - Locks?
I put thieves into two categories: 1. opportunity thieves (those who decide on the spot to steal) 2. targeting thieves (those who decide ahead of time and plan out the theft). Things like secret kill switches and cable locks will discourage the first kind. But a good targeting thief doesn't care if ...

Re: help me my pcx brethren! (fog light question)
The battery doesn't really charge at idle. Put the bike up on the the center stand and rev the engine while checking the voltage. The service manual says the alt. capacity is 343 watts at 5000rpm. I'd guess you're fairly close to maxing it out. I think the PCX lights are absolutely terrible on those...

Probably not including a $700 freight fee they don't tell you about till you're ready to buy.Slickvic wrote:Yes, a 2013 pcx 150.jlhog wrote:Was that sale on the PCX150?Slickvic wrote:Earlier this week I saw a dealer ad with a "March madness" sale price of $2,999.

Re: MSF Basic Rider Course
MSF courses are great but they are expensive. I had every intention of going that route until i was hit with the price tag. After some research i learned i could just take the motorcycle riding test at the local license branch i would only be charged a few bucks to reprint my license. So that is wha...

Re: Cable or Satellite for Best Customer satisfaction?
I have been trying to determine for a few years now whether one is better than the other in any respect, and to me it looks like it is customer satisfaction that determines which is best. Either one seems to be intent on screwing the customers, so which is best? Depends on which service (internet, ...
