Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap
Mark the Variator with a Sharpie and see if you are getting full belt travel. You have to determine that before moving forward. If you are getting full travel, then turn down the Variator/Driveface. If you are not getting full belt travel, then go heavier on weights. If you still don't get full bel...

Stock honda variator is 127mm external diameter 20240403_144434.jpg Polini variator 129mm external diameter 20240403_150114.jpg My modified standard variator (on left) is closing tighter than the polini one which is why I'm getting so much more from my modified variator as its pushing belt out furth...

Re: Suspension lift kit
Yeh makes it turn in alot nice and makes it more agile too. Has added quite a bit extra clearance and both stands still work fine too

Suspension lift kit
So I ride on some rough roads and terrain quite regularly (4 miles a day) and decided some extra ground clearance would help. Also got new shocks and fork rebuild kit on order too which should help too. So bought some 50mm rear shock extenders and I'm quite happy with the extra clearance. Bike seams...

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap
I wonder if you have to run a longer belt in order to take advantage of the Polini Variator. Maybe Polini sells a Polini belt to compliment it. I have a question. Which one is Stock and which one is Polini? Im guessing Left is Polini? When I was looking for a variator for my 2022 pcx (160) I couldn...

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap
Ahhh I see what you did to modify the stock driveface.. lol Didn't even notice at first. So my idea behind the belt being too short is that if its too short, the belt is not riding all the way to the edge of the Driveface.. Use a Sharpie Marker and mark up the faces and then go run it. Post some pi...

Re: honda pcx help
I spend most off the time doing 60mph on mine (national speed limit in uk) and 70 when I do the odd motorway trip. I have a big 80cm screen on mine tucano urbano. It does catch the side winds quite a bit but it's a relatively light bike with most off it's weight low down. Just get used to it and rid...

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap
So ive installed the standard honda contra spring and clutch springs. Did another run and still got the same 62mph running into the limiter. Today I've fitted 15g rollers into the polini variator and it's got to 66mph and hitting the rev limiter. I really do think this polini kit is absolute S#*T li...

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap
Derr Mon-eye. If it was my scooter and I wasn't overly concerned about money I would ditch the whole Polini thing and buy a J. Costa and run with stock spring as designed. On a positive note I think I gleaned from here that the Polini unit has a pulley angle of 13 degrees which allows the pulley ha...

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap
So stock the pcx had 18.5g rollers. I believe the European PCX comes with 15g weights as the riders are heavier than Asian riders. who get 18g. 0331-22123-k1y-10j-0-2-800x800.jpg If you want to know how much your original weights weigh put them in a self-addressed envelope go to the post office and...

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap
I run 10.25G Dr Pulley sliders in my NCY Variator. (61.5G total) I would say run the stock contra Spring and run the 10G rollers in the Polini. If you get your top speed back, but you lose acceleration what you can start to do is lighten 4 roller weights at a time. 0.5g from 4 rollers. until you re...

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap
So stock the pcx had 18.5g rollers. I've been running 14.5f rollers. So the 10g rollers that came with the kit are way way to light especially with a heavier spring fitted from the kit too then. So should I try and find some heavier rollers to try in the polini variator. I've found some 19mm x 17mm ...

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap
OK best we got here years ago with 125 using J Costa was 122kph which is 76mph. I assume with no screen. 100kg rider would lose about 3 kph against a 60 or 75 kg rider so make it +/- 74 mph. Does your Polini have 9 weights or 6? The box in your picture has 8 🤔 Stock PCX has 15g weights so 6 x 15 =9...

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap
78 mph indicated is pretty good for a standard 125 bike with tuned variator. 75 would also be good. As we don't know your weight or height. I.e. are you small and ride tucked🤔 Did you fit the whole Polini kit? According to my info the kit in that picture is for a SH125/150. OK they share the same e...
