Re: Idle switch not working
Just done some research and found this post from another forum about the seat situation: "I solved the problem with a little bit of brain power, fiddling under the seat and with some black tape... Note that when you're changing your seat, there's a switch at the hinge. The seat will cause the c...

Re: Idle switch not working
Why use idle stop? Two reasons, one: its nice to sit in peace without the engine running, two: its a fun gadget and can surprise other road users when you blow them off at the lights from a stopped engine. Idle stop only become active when it detects the coolant is up to temperature and I think on ...

Idle switch not working
My idle stop switch has stopped working. The engine no longer switches off when I'm stationary at traffic lights. This used to sometimes occur when I had only just started my commute when the engine hasn't fully warmed up but now it still doesn't work even when the engine is fully warm and I'm well ...

Re: Morning ride = sooooo cold!
Received the clothes today. Bit of a problem with the sizes though. I ordered large which is actually the 3rd smallest size out of a possible 8 sizes! The jacket is too big and the sleeves are too long and the trousers are too small! But strange really given that I have a larger upper body than low...

Re: Morning ride = sooooo cold!
Normal rainproof biker trousers (came free with http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/117294) and never felt cold on my legs even at sub zero temps, the jacket above with lining and t-shirt/fleece underneath, and a choice of gloves - so far found gore-tex mittens with lining...

Re: Oxford OF772 Heated grips.
Could somebody please provide a guide on how to install these. I haven't bought any yet but will do soon when the weather gets colder. The guy at spoke to in a bike shop said that they should be connected to the ignition wiring but there doesn't seem to be any obvious way to do this. Any guidance wo...

Re: Seat customization
The seal works quite well. I would suggest putting the custom seat on without the seal. Then close it and see where the seat meets the base in order to visualize where the seal would go. Look at it opened and closed. Then take the seat off and install the seal around it. Then look again. The seal s...

Re: Seat customization
Ok, I will give it a go. So do you not have any gaps around the side of your bike with the custom seat on it and no water comes in?

Re: Seat customization
The seal actually goes on that lower ledge all the way around. Start where the seat connects to the hinge and take your time. Pull the one from the original and use it. I'm not sure how that will work as there won't be anything surrounding the seal. On the original seat there is about a 1cm deep ga...

Re: Seat customization
The original seat has a gap all the way around which holds in the stick on rubber seal. The custom seat has no gap for it to go into.

I'm not sure what you mean by bucket rim? The original seat has a gap all the way around which holds in the stick on rubber seal. The custom seat has no gap for it to go into.gn2 wrote:So stick it to the bucket rim?

Re: Seat ordered from bikerzbits not fit for purpose!
Yes I think so. It's a rubber strip that goes all the way around the seat. It pulls out of the gap/lip it's in. However the new seat has no gap for it to be pushed into.gn2 wrote:Stick on draught excluder strip...?

Re: Seat customization
I have the same issue. I do have a custom seat from Thailand, but it's still not enough. I still feel like I'm being dumped forward. Grrrrr. Can I ask where you got your seat from? I have bought from from bikerzbits in Thailand. It arrived today and is unusable as there is no rubber seal underneath...

Seat ordered from bikerzbits not fit for purpose!
I finally got fed up of wet arse due to water dripping down from underneath that hump and ordered a new seat from bikerzbits. It arrived today. I've put it on only to discover there is a large gap around the side and you can actually see into the under seat area. Upon closer inspection the seat does...
