Re: Dealer installed USB power and RAM Mount

Pedro, Maddie was right – half the $ went to installation... and the one time I need it to charge my bluetooth headset or power up my phone for GPS, it will already have been money well spent! The RAM mount is solid as hell, and I just take the grip off and store it, and rotate the mount down when I...

Re: Jacob's PCX150

Jacob, did you install the Givi box on your own? I'm wondering if I could do the same picking up the OEM honda version, or if I should just have the dealer do it. Wrenches and screws I can handle... wiring for any brakelight though is out of my wheelhouse!

Dealer installed USB power and RAM Mount

So here are the two accessories my dealer installed for me – total cost plus installation was maybe $180 or so. Haven't really needed them yet, but I did test them on one short ride. Will definitely come in handy for the long haul!

Re: Got it!

Thanks Guy, maybe that's what I need to do. Seems odd that the manual would say to always be sure to use it, when it doesn't seem to work for most who've tried, but I'll try harder again. I just suited up for some practice riding and it started thundering and raining. Not going out in that!

Re: Got it!

Pedro, you have know idea who I am, but yet you know me so well! Last night I spent a few minutes in the garage beaming over it. I haven't worked up a system to allow me to commute to work (need to get a new computer at the office for that, so I'm not carting my laptop with me in a backpack), and al...

Re: Got it!

Pseudo, yes... I'll be sure to post the USB and mount later today, in the Accessories forum, and link to it here. Just had too much fun riding it yesterday to bother with a pic!

Re: Got it!

Thanks as well! The dealer hadn't mentioned that, but fortunately it was maybe one of only two or three times I did that, probably only two, so that won't happen again. Much as I love the red color though, I'm jealous of the color choices you have in Thailand... and your food! :D

Got it!

Ain't he/she/it a beaut? Getting it home was a little nerve-wracking, needing to hit 55-60 mph right out of the dealer's lot, but a quarter mile up was my turn, and from there on it was smooth sailing. Already 30 miles on it, and I only rode 12 for my safety course! It handles like a dream, I love n...

Re: Just put down a payment on a PCX150!

Mel, I'm in NJ. Just the idea that you might *consider* using a turn signal is about as much notice as most drivers give here! Kat, at the very least, helmets are required by law here in NJ. The dealer was telling me he was ticked that the American Motorcycle Association fought successfully to...

Re: Just put down a payment on a PCX150!

Sounds like the one I got too, a Scorpion EXO-500 full-face with the built-in visor. I also picked up a 3/4 face helmet because I knew either my wife or son will want to take a spin as a passenger (when I'm ready), and also because the safety course I took required a lot of helmet removal. That was ...

Re: Just put down a payment on a PCX150!

Thanks Jim! Yeah, I'm really looking forward to getting it later this week, or weekend, and am already plotting out the backroad way home - no way will my first ride be on a highway. I love your idea of the slow race - it was something we did as an exercise in the safety course, but once you got goo...

Re: PCX150 service schedule and brakes?

Excellent! Thanks for the advice Maddie. My only experience on a bike so far was a 1998 Honda Rebel used in my motorcycle safety class. After 12 hours of riding there, my only brake knowledge is right hand and right foot. Should be an easy switch to the CBS with your advice, especially since I had a...

PCX150 service schedule and brakes?

Hey all, I'm getting my PCX150 later this week, and just wanted to know opinions on the feel of the CBS braking system. Thoughts?

Also, although I'm sure the dealer will tell me as well, but what's the basic maintenance schedule you guys have seen required?

Thanks!

Re: Bought a new PCX 150 (Red) today

Congrats to another new owner! I bought mine on Saturday, but waiting on the dealer to install a power cable and a handlebar mount for my phone for GPS. Not ready for highway riding to get home just yet, so it's backroads in the beginning. I just don't exactly know the way home, so I need a guide!

Re: Joining the club!

Hi Kim, I'm in central NJ just outside Princeton. Lots of back roads around here in the Sourlands. Very much looking forward to scooting around them. Even the ride back from the dealer later this week should be beautiful!

Re: Just put down a payment on a PCX150!

Thanks Dan, appreciate it! I just took a basic motorcycle safety course last weekend, so I got a little feel for riding a powered two-wheeler, but for sure I'll be avoiding heavily trafficked roads for a while. Really looking forward to using this as a potential commuter (only 10 miles each way), an...
