Re: Ferry crossing advice.

Those are the islands I was thinking of. It will depend on wind speed and weather conditions etc. when I get near the ferry ports before I decide to go. I know they can get very windy.

Ferry crossing advice.

I'm planning a nice long trip around the coast of Scotland this year and I want to take in some of the Islands. What's got me thinking though is: How do I stop my scoot from falling over on the ferries if the sea's not flat calm? Do I need to bring my own straps and stuff to tie it to the deck or so...

Re: Riding with full beam on all the time.

From the link above: Headlamp. (a) Used so as to cause undue dazzle or discomfort to other persons using the road. That's a bit subjective isn't it? One mans dazzle or discomfort is not necessarily the same for the next man. It's possible that this may be interpreted differently by different people ...

Re: Maintenance: what about the intervals?

I don't understand why you change oil every 1250 mls while Honda says it should be done every 5000 mls? I think if Honda says 5000 that is already on the safe side. I'm absolutely not checking the valves myself, I have the amazing ability to do damage to things I try to maintain. Thank you Edscoot ...

Re: Riding with full beam on all the time.

I've been looking around the web and the opinions are fairly evenly divided, with maybe a small majority not in favour of this (but not by much). It's so close in fact that I'm going to do a more detailed test. I'll do 200 mls with full beam and count the number of smidsys etc. and then 200 without ...

Riding with full beam on all the time.

I know it's wrong, and probably illegal. But having got sick of cagers trying to kill me I thought I would experiment and try riding with my headlight on full beam all the time. The result is a dramatic improvement :) This is riding during daylight hours so nobody is going to get dazzled, at worst m...

Re: Maintenance: what about the intervals?

I would learn to do the oil change if I was you. It's really quick and easy, and is about the best thing you can do to keep your engine in good condition - also, it's pretty cheap to do. I change mine every 1250miles. As for your valves: Checking them is a pain - it takes ages and you have to fiddle...

Re: :( So long PCX

I'll let everyone guess how much they quoted - nearest guess will get a smiley from me. Hmm. I once drove through a puddle in a Citroen ZX. It sucked the water into the engine and bent the con rods, so it needed a rebuild, plus a new clutch. This was paid for by the insurance company to the tune of...

Re: New engine on model 2012 PCX 125

The cheapest petrol around where I live is from one of those self serve, credit card only (no staff) places. It has a minimum delivery of 5 litres :( I wouldn't be surprised to see more of these unmanned petrol stations in the future because of the saving on staffing costs etc. This will make life v...

I wonder how he'll get on with tyres if he gets a flat. I'm not sure the size is popular enough to make getting a new one easy in far flung parts of the world.

Round the World on a PCX

See this guy's going to do a RTW on his PCX. http://www.andrewcharnley.com/ :D The service interval and the ground clearance are the only problems I can think of. Oh, and the hump. I have been planning a camping trip round the UK coast this summer on my PCX (going clockwise to keep nearest the sea),...

bikeypikey wrote:Just to let you guys know, the 150 is priced the same as the "old" 125 here in Thailand at 79,000 baht which equates to about 1,600 GBP or 2,500 USD. That's for the ally wheel model.

Cheers,

Pikey.
I wish. A PCX costs about £2500 in the UK.

Re: Sorry! i part X'd the PCX for a geared bike

As I remember it from the article I read about the Xl125. The journalist who was riding it looked up its engine performance on the Honda website to find out at what revs it produced the most power and simply kept the engine screaming along at those revs (I could be wrong about this). The PCX from me...

Re: New bloke here - my wife's PCX + bling

Hi, and welcome. That 150 looks nice. I would love to have that seat. What tyres are those? Are the rims the same size as the original for the 150? I guess we all want to know what the speed & acceleration is like on the 150. I've been planing to hardtail a bonnie (t120 or tr6) ever since a frie...

Re: Sorry! i part X'd the PCX for a geared bike

I've fancied one of those for a while now but the prices put me off. Let us know how you get on with it. I read a road test where it got 110mpg around central London (beating the PCX by quite some margin), so you should save on fuel.

..... If you do get a screen, tell me what you think? I am still undecided, dont want to spend the money then regret it. Pony I had a brand new pcx as a loaner while mine was in for service not long ago. I've got the Honda tall screen - the loaner didn't, the result was a face full of flies and win...

Revised PCX125cc engines

According to MCN, Honda have developed a new, more efficient (3%) engine for the PCX for this year. The claimed mpg goes up to 133.9. I've had 132 out of my scoot before - well, it was over 131.5. Re: Start stop issue?

I had a similar experience once or twice last summer, but it stopped happening of its own accord and I've had no issues since. Have you talked to your dealer? My experience was the engine didn't do anything until I switched the ignition off and on again and pressed the starter. When the engine switc...
