Re: Will a Forza be the "ultimate" bike for me?
You might go down to your local Kawasaki dealer and ask them if they know when the J300 will be available?

Re: What oil shoul I put in my Honda Pcx 125
Manual say 10W-30 and it also says JASO MB rating so your Mobil 1 is correct. You do not need to buy motorbike specific oil because most of them are JASO MA

Re: Bike shudders the first few times it starts each trip
Dust in the clutch is the usual cause of vibrations at low revs/speed. Take the bike out for a run in the country and get it up to 50- 60 mph that will blow all the dust out of the clutch. I usually start pretty gently. This is also not so good. accelerate away decisively and firmly. Back off when a...

Re: Potential available with variator and exhaust
So... the exhaust does virtually nothing to improve the performance of the HP curve. The variator however makes a big difference! Too bad you didn't post the variator curve alone (with the stock exhaust). Yes the exhaust does contribute just that the stock variator obviously does not allow it to do...

For competition no doubt saving weight is important but for average road use it is like buying some titanium parts for a mountain bike then adding an extra water bottle

Re: Gears for higher top speed
Maddiedog you can get a speedo healer to correct the speedometer error. That's what most cbr250r guys buy. Then you could correct the speedometer to gps and have it actually accurate. Not worth the $120... Yep. Easier to recalibrate with Scotch-like tape and a felt maker! One of the advantages of a...

http://www.tonyfoale.com/Articles/Aerodynamics/AeroTabl.jpg The above table is from an old test to establish the effect of a fairing on a bike, but I thought it interesting as it does show how much effect aerodynamics has on a bikes top speed and even roll on acceleration. As shown by the upwind/do...

Re: Gears for higher top speed
that would mean 85mph . I wish you luck. According to a formula I have you'll need about 19- 19.5 hp to get 85 from a PCX. It is difficult to predict because I never know if quoted speeds for PCX's are real or indicated. If you can get the 19 odd HP from 170 or 173 without porting the head and usin...

Re: variators so whats the best?
Max power for a stock engine is at 8500 so even if the variator allows you to turn at over 8500 you won't get anymore power if riding into a headwind etc.. Downhill, with gravity assist, where you need less Hp from the motor, yes extra RPM will give you higher speed. If you want more power above 850...

Re: variators so whats the best?
I don't really know. When I bought my PCX a lot of persons told me that JCosta variator it's a good vario. True since it is very fast until 80kph or almost 50mph. After that it has a flat spot on acceleration until 100kph or so and then to 110 and that's it. After that to reach 120 or 130kph only w...

Re: Gears for higher top speed
Just a side note, mark the direction of rotation before you remove your belt. I recently had a daytona reinforced belt explode when I reinstalled it the reverse of the direction I took it off. Anyway I have cut a factory belt and have had a Kevlar belt explode. The stock belt and reinforced belts a...

Re: Gears for higher top speed
I get mine from webike. Not many places to get a reinforced belt in the US and gates USA doesn't make one for our application. From what i can see all gates belts are aramid (Kevlar) 1) BOOST ™ with aramid reinforced rubber compound to improve durability 2) BOOST ™+ with aramid reinforced rubber co...
