Re: Yuminashi variator and belt
I don't consider the question loaded? A statement was made. I am just curious why? Maybe it is simply one man's opinion. My hobby is variators and how and why they work the more information the better. There are at least 6 plus or more different variators each with their own fans Some may work bette...

Re: Yuminashi variator and belt
Hi you made this statement in a different thread.
I'm sure it does something but what above others and why?
Just wondering what your opinion is based on? Back-to-back test , experience of others?Yuminashi is supposed to be the best product hands down

Re: Variator for PCX 150
I did realize that one thing one gets is potential top speed at the rev limit as opposed to top speed limited by something other than revs, like a HP limiter. I suppose also that applying more rear brake would show the action of the counter spring and simulate uphill riding and down shifting. Most v...

Re: Variator for PCX 150
Please explain what you learn on the stand? It is not the real world. Formula is what it is, use it 13.5hp and 31.5 Constant and you will get 120 kph. Most calculators have a power function if not use excel. The constants are different for different bikes or types of bike but it works for Hyabusa ro...

Re: Yuminashi variator and belt
Just a cautionary note. If you look at Yuminashi site it cautions against using a 150 belt. They use a 125 belt. Which I assume is narrower? If you use a 150 belt if will according to the warning only last about 15 kms. Again I assume because it will rub on the casing or... I'll have to go and buy ...

Re: Variator for PCX 150
I think for the sake of testing variators for top speed, I would test it on the stand (if I can reduce the vibration it currently has). Testing on the stand doesn't show much as there is no real-world wind resistance. Top speed at 13.5 hp is about 120 from TS=Cx(HP^1/3) Using 31.5 as the constant (...

Re: Variator for PCX 150
I bought this Honda PCX Variator which was custom made by Mad Max Bangkok Shop. I get a very stable upper end top speed of 110km/h. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10200602621814357&set=gm.175848325932325&type=1&theater https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/q77/...

How it works..someone more technical may answer that question better. I know it has an removable attachment next to one of the lobes,i assume an intake one? Takegawa cam comes without it supplied but it has made provision for it that one can reuse from the stock cam. The only thing is you need a pr...

Re: The reality of owning a PCX in Pattaya, Thailand
Sent you a message on TV. The stock air box is OK but you might wish to remove the little rubber tube on the inlet of the air box? I mad a plaster cast of both it and the rubber tube between the air box and the throttle body. The inlet one is smaller. The "beer can" looking ones are no big...

Re: PCX top speed
does increasing the size of the tube from the air box to the throttle body make any noticable difference? I know i've seen a picture of it done. I'm just trying to get a little more torque for top end acceleration. With my 13g weights and NCY variator the scooter will reach 77mph down hill. I havn'...
