Re: New 2025 PCX slow?
It is possible that your 2017 model had 15gram weights in the variator and your 2025 version has 18 gram the same as the 150. Maybe someone else can chip in. Did you possibly get both your bikes from the same dealer. If so you could ask if they will fit the same weights as your 2017 model if you exp...

Re: New 2025 PCX slow?
Back at my PC
If you were 100kgs you should get about 98kph or 60 mph. So that fits with your previous experience. With some variator mods or change you could easily get 65 mph. .Aerodynamics is important so as a big lad you will suffer a bit.
Give it time.

Re: New 2025 PCX slow?
Give it time. It takes 400kms (250 m) for the belt to wear in.
I only have numbers for riders up to 100kgs you are 125!
But you will definitely need some varistor tuning.
Did you add your location? Asian bikes have different settings than, say,US models.

Re: Stock variator performance
Just to add to the non linearity. Recently on my 110cc Honda (well OK 120) at an indicated 90kph on a slight incline it was at 8600rpm but the other day on a slight downhill stretch at the same speed it was showing about 7600rpm. Same speed but not linear rpm increase and not flat-out. That would be...

Re: 2016 PCX top speed!
Change the Variator. Weights alone doesn't do much besides increase or decrease your acceleration. Aftermarket Variator and driveface will give you taller gearing. By changing the weights you can get the engine to rev to max power rpm (8300?) which will increase top speed on a 125 to 122kph or abou...

Re: Stock variator performance
How far the weights move is not simply rpm dependent. They have to force the pulley halves together to alter the gearing. To do this they have to overcome the force of the counter spring. Then there is the torque tube which reacts to the amount of torque applied to the pulleys and will essentially t...

Re: Stock variator performance
A couple of years ago I did make a spreadsheet of the effective weight of the weights at different rpm with the intention to try and ascertain what weights to install to get max torque during acceleration. My PC is currently down waiting for a part so can't access at present. So I am pecking away on ...

Re: fuel tuner
I used to sell the early ones. What are you trying to do? It won't make a stock bike go any faster from my customer's experience. It would be cheaper using a slightly larger injector if all you want to do is richen it up a bit. That needs a bit of research as I don't know what size the stock injecto...

You can buy clamp on windshield extension widgits. They might be cheaper than a whole windshield.
I have one on my ADV motorcycle.

Re: 2023 PCX 125 upgrades for acceleration and smoother operation
It might be the roll-on for urban overtaking you notice most. That and the roundabout exits.🤭 I've got tiny 11g weights in my Zoomer but it is bored to 125-ish so I need heavier and don't know if they still make then. So I'm a bit revvy around town for shopping.. I'll have to fire up my PC and check...

Re: 2023 PCX 125 upgrades for acceleration and smoother operation
Wait about 400kms until the belt wears in. Another happy customers🍻 Been around any roundabouts yet. Yeah it’s much nicer on the roundabouts now. Haven’t got enough time to peel the bananas now. So you were saying the 10g Costa weights are no good on the 125? No. Your 1 mph max speed will come back...

Woody
Your rpm will be higher when coming out of a roundabout but will be slightly lower than stock when cruising. Unlike Conelite above who is riding around town on a chainsaw.

Re: 2023 PCX 125 upgrades for acceleration and smoother operation
Damn travelling will a phone so pecking away at the screen. I was sure I touched the post reply. The 12g weights are for the 150 the 11g are for your 125 You maybe disappointed if you use the 12g. The instructions will tell you. Weight wear interval will be around 10,000kms for the 125/150. Again in...

Re: 2023 PCX 125 upgrades for acceleration and smoother operation
Your bike at only a few weeks will be OK. The pulley angle on J Costa is narrower. 13.5 ° vs. 15° so it will take about 400kms to basically wear the belt to suit the pulley to get full benefit.
New belt according to Honda service interval.

Re: 2023 PCX 125 upgrades for acceleration and smoother operation
I'm biased but I would go with J Costa. Same acceleration 2 up as stock solo! Much better roll-on i.e. out of roundabouts, corners and uphill. May even surprise a PCX 160

To add to your list? No1. Tachometer CBR150 throttle body SONIC double vale springs. Should be able to rev to about 11,000 but not for long periods. I don't have any HP numbers but aero will be the limiting factor. At a guess I'd say about 130 kph. I once made a plaster mold of the rubber intake pip...
