Re: Variator for 125
Hi guys. Have no experience with upgrades as I have no contact with other PCX owners where I live (and no supply source - I live in South America.) Are there known issues with the variator on the PCX 125? Is a variator upgrade suggested by those with experience? If so, what would be a good choice fo...

Best reason I've heard thus far: "My wife needs the hump!"

Re: Seat change
It feels awesome; it allows me to *scoot* back on the seat, extend my legs a little, and feel more balanced and relaxed. I decided to modify after I removed the hump and rode around. I found that my butt wanted to be exactly over the two piers into which the hump bolts are mounted, about 3 inches fa...

Re: Engine number location?
Sorry for any offense I caused anyone; feel a little overwhelmed down here in the 3rd World; it seems I mistook people's sense of humor for mean-ness. My mistake, and I apologize to all.

Re: Seat change
SEAT 2.jpg OK. Took foto, shrunk it, so here goes...my modified PCX seat. DJ pulled the old vinyl and showed me how he would have to cut out the piers on which the hump bolts were attached; then, cut and bend a rectangle of aluminum, and rivet that in place; then, he hand-sculpted a firm foam block...

Re: Rear fender rattle on PCX 125
Thanks to everyone for their responses; the noise would be heard on slow acceleration, and slowing down; now, it's increased to some intermittent sounds when I'm riding at speed. I have to tag here on the island (they say they "ran out") so it's not the tag or bracket. magluitta gave me so...

Re: Rattling sound
maddiedog, did you take note of reply from gn2? Thanks, Mgalutia88; I have not done anything mechanical, myself; bought the scooter in July, did the 900 mi service at the dealer, and brought it to Colombia; haven't gotten past that, and washing/waxing it; I do have the Service Manual, and can look a...

Re: Engine number location? TO khaosaming
MANY thanks to *khaosaming* for the excellent help. I was in the midst of retiring, selling an apartment and car, packing a container and moving to South America, so I was a little stressed out at the time. Everything worked out well. Thanks again, khaosaming

Rattling sound
Bought the scooter (PCX 125) in July last year; noticed that sometimes at idle, or when motoring slowly, I would head a rattling/vibrating sound that seemed to come from under the seat, towards the rear; I've checked everything well, and had two mechanics do the same, but found nothing. Now that I'v...

Re: Seat change
Looks great. It only took me about 2 weeks to get sick of the hump. I had mine re-upholstered for $140; the guy sculpted firm foam to match the contours of the seat base, and covered it with wicked nice textured vinyl meant for marine applications...I love it. (Regarding the 2014 model foto you post...

maddie dog: comment regarding Service Manual for PCX 125
I retired in 2013 and moved to a remote area of Colombia, bringing my PCX with me; they do have a Honda dealership, but have never seen a PCX. I posted in the past as I was confused about how to remove body panels. Thanks to "maddiedog" and several others who responded with information but...

Removing body panels :-0
Does anyone have any tips on how to go about removing the PCX body panels? I have the shop manual, but it does not specifically advise how to access the tabs, screws, or bolts. It does show their locations but no info about "attacking" the removal. It also seems to imply that you have to r...

Re: Engine number location?
dasshreddar, you're just fucking with me right? I mean, where else would the engine number be? Sorry I didn't say "Does anyone know where the engine number is located ON the engine?" But thanks for no help.

Engine number location?
Greetings, fellow scooteristas! I really need some help, and fast... I am moving to South America in November, and they need the *engine number* in addition to the VIN. Can anyone please tell me where to find the *engine number,* and will any body panels need to be removed to access it? thanks, Walt...

Rear fender rattle on PCX 125
Howdy. I have a 2011 PCX 125, which I love, but have noticed what almost sounds like sheet metal rattling at the rear of the scooter...if usually happens when I'm slowing way down...I've checked the license plate and all connections/mounting points for the fender, but can't find anything loose; I ca...

How to remove PCX body panels
Hi, ya'll. Does anyone have any tips on how to properly remove the body panels on the PCX? I have the maintenance manual, but it only describes the order in which they need to be removed, but they do not say "carefully pry here," or "lift at this point." Which leads to a second q...
