I have Givi boxes on 4 of my bikes, all mounting plates the same.
But none of them look like this one - did they change across the entire line, or is this just for that style box ?

With all the different apps available now I find that I stick with OSM And and Google Maps They seem to do a good job - like OSM display. Have a Garmin Zumo for last 15 years too - but Garmin not keeping up with changes much in Asia - concentrating on N America and Europe I guess. If you try it let ...

I use OEM. Metallic pads accelerate rotor wear - and for this application not required.

Yes, I heard this and used to do it to my bicycles a lot, but if it's so loose that it can be aligned like that, wouldn't it go out of alignment on the next pothole or round a bend etc...!? I thought I need to find the place that holds the alignment together, loosen the bolts there , align and tigh...

Stand facing the rear of the bike with the front wheel between your legs.
Grasp the front wheel with your legs so it can not move.
Grab the handlebars and twist in whichever direction you want them to move.
Test ride - adjust as necessary
