UK v IT warranty

I've recently discovered that SH300s bought in Italy come with a 4 year warranty? Why do we only get 2?

Due to local laws - many warranties in the UK state 1 yr!, others have 2 (EU ruling) but local IT laws may have 4 as you state. In the UK, there is the sale of goods act which is supposed to protect you against faults with products up to six years. I know people who have been given new TV's after 4 years due to screen problems, but you have to talk to the manager and have the nerve to press your case and not let up.
