Alarmed lock for new model PCX 125 UK

Post by cnikonpete »

Good morning,

My new bike is confirmed for two weeks time and I want to get an alarmed lock to be ready for it. My research has made me look for either a 6mm pin disc lock or an alarmed d or u lock. My preference would be a d lock to go through spokes and around fork leg.

The ones from Oxford look ok,but am unsure what size to get.

Anyone with experience or suggestions, the scooter is mostly going to be kept in a reasonably secure location in a low crime rate area.

Thanks

Whatever you decide on, DO NOT tell your insurance company you are using an additional lock or you will have to use it each and every time you park the scooter, which is a royal p.i.t.a.
A big beefy padlock and chain through the back wheel onto a solid object is best imo.
Disc locks are a waste of time and just make your disc go rusty.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

I recommend the Oxford Boss 16mm alarmed. Put it through the spokes and it is very hard to break.

Thanks, insurance companies are a pita anyway, but get your point. Told them it will be in granite building in garden, and they said if it's stolen from anywhere else within 500 metres of there, they won't pay out. We do really pay through the nose for very little.

I will look at Oxford Boss.

I have the 14mm I think, it's a great lock with a good long shank, recommended.
