Cutting out.
Lost power from 60 to a stop. Engine cut out. No starter motor. After a couple of minutes starts, runs for a few minutes, cuts out. No starter again. Repeat. Lights all good. Management light comes on and goes off as normal. Sidestand up and brake held. Ideas?

Has the bike been rained on or driven in the rain recently?

Re: Cutting out.
Check all electrical harnesses and plugs for tightness and contact. Especially ignition main harness.

Re: Cutting out.
Nope to rain, not fresh fuel and all plugs should be tight as it had a check up by a local garage for the same fault a month ago who could find nothing obvious. Not a Honda dealer but my local Honda dealers are arseholes and I have fallen out with them over the faults they have put ON the bike.

Re: Cutting out.
Someone else on the forum just had a problem in which the bike would not start. That turned out to be water in the Start/Stop switch. He sprayed WD-40 into the switch housing and the bike started up fine.
Someone else had the plug come loose to the ECU.
Others have had to readjust their valves.
One had water in his fuel and had to empty the tank and add new fuel.
There are others whose side stand switch went bad.
Another blew his engine.
The point is, there are a lot of things that can cause your problem. Some small. Some big.
Start with the things you CAN do. Check the valves, the spark plug, the switches and plugs, fuel. Then move on to more serious stuff. We can give you better advice as you progress along. Good luck.
Also, would you mind going into your profile and adding your location. It would help us help you better.

Re: Cutting out.
In the end it was the engine earth cable had corroded through several months ago. This eventually caused the computer to have a heart attack. New earth cable and a £40 second hand cpu and all is well again. For info the bike is my commuter and does 30+ miles a day in all weathers and in Scotland all weathers includes a lot of salt on the road.

Re: Cutting out.
Well that is a first. Still, I have heard from others that Scotland is hard on scooters. I guess the best you can do is wash it thoroughly ever so often and use some WD 40. I am sure others who live in the area have some other suggestions as well.

Re: Cutting out.
Well, that sounds like something to take a look at on occasion, especially if a crummy ground wire cascades into a more expensive fix. Anybody know where this wire is and how accessible/inspectable it is?
On my scoot, getting there is WAY more than half the fun!
