Any news on the 2020 Honda PCX?
Been scouring the internet, but haven’t found anything yet. I know last year Honda unveiled the hybrid & electric versions of the PCX in Asia. And they did finally add abs here in the states, albeit for an extra fee.
But what will Honda do for 2020 in the States? Finally release the hybrid version over here? I could see that before the electric version, because the electric version is only equivalent to a 50cc scooter, which i don’t think will fly here. I talked to my friend at vespa and he says their electric vespa isn’t doing too well in the US.
Or will this be one of those gap years Honda has done with the PCX before where nothing new is done. What do y’all think? Or what do you hope Honda does with the PCX in 2020?

Good question.
Time will tell. I hope they listen to the consumers suggestions.

They usually announce them in the Summer right? So should be soon. What are you hoping for? Either mechanically or aesthetically?Old Grinner wrote:Good question.

Re: Any news on the 2020 Honda PCX?
Let's make a 2020 list.
Color: White
CC: 200
Mirrors: less goofy and color coded with integrated indicators
Body panels: easier to remove. Less chance of breaking clips, etc. Also making valve ck/adj. easier
Horn: Louder
Seat: Offer other(s) as an option or accessory
Electric PCX? Ok. Must go the distance. Good speed. Less charge time too

Simple things on my wish list..
Disc brakes, rear and front, of course with ABS on both
new more sporty look (similar to the new Forza 300 maybe)
adjustable rear shock height
Everything looks better from the inside of a motorcycle helmet...

Re: Any news on the 2020 Honda PCX?
When I voiced my concerns to Honda after I traded in my 2017 PCX for the 2018 Zuma I hoped they would at least put them up for discussion. I considered myself "a voice in the wilderness" so-to-speak.
I registered 2 complaints:
1) I asked them why they skimped on the seat design and didn't make it more universally comfortable for more people.
To me it would make common sense that if my product appealed to a broad range of consumers I'd sell more of them. Why screw myself on lost sales because I make a scooter that's only comfortable for a limited number of people. Why even have the term "uncomfortable" attached to something I sell. Just sounds counter productive.
2) I asked them why they insist on putting the horn button where the turn signal switch usually is . . ..
From what I can see (with a few exceptions) most MC/Scooter marques have the horn button down low on the left handle bar with the turn signal switch just above it. Further, the Hi/Lo Beam switch is on top. I let them know I found it annoying to keep beeping the horn when I went to use a turn signal. And I'm not the only one. I've heard others complain as well.
So at least I said something. I really miss the PCX performance and when I bought it I didn't anticipate having to get rid of it.
I think WN and alx123 made some good suggestions here. Honda . . . can you hear them now? Are you listening?
Sad to say but I think at the end of the day what Jge64 predicts will be what really rolls into the dealer showrooms in our future. Another spin on the current design . . ..

Re: Any news on the 2020 Honda PCX?
A recent Honda Thailand news update mentioned an ADV-150.
Looks like they put the PCX engine on an ADV, or they put an adv casing on a PCX. Either way, watchathink of it?

The 750 is a nice machine.
Hope the seat is comfortable.
Is it like the Lifan 150?

Re: Any news on the 2020 Honda PCX?
It seems pretty logical that Honda would adapt some changes that it seems most current owners want to see, such as a better seat, and a boost in engine size, but my experience with other Honda products, and other manufacturers both foreign and domestic, is that all the discussion by owners goes pretty much ....nowhere. Speculation and wishing seems a common subject on forums for every specific motorcycle that I have ever owned since the age of the internet began, but the rarity of a commonly sought improvement making it into production models seems more random than direct. So while it would be nice to think that Honda has someone paying attention to what is said on this forum, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Honda to thank us for our good ideas let alone actually make the changes.
A number of years ago I owned the Honda maxi-scooter, the Silverwing. Suggestions for improvements abounded on the Silverwing Forum, especially those aimed at making it more competitive with its main rival, the Suzuki Burgman. Honda's real world response was to stop making the Silverwing entirely.
I'm a new PCX150 owner, and other than the "burning butt" issue I have been very impressed and happy with this little scooter. Many times now I leave my big Goldwing at home and go for a fun ride on the PCX, just as it is.

Kawasaki makes changes, look at the Ninja 300, was getting dusted by the Yamaha R3 than leapfrogs Yamaha by making the Ninja 400 and keeping the same price as the Ninja 300's MSRP.

Re: Any news on the 2020 Honda PCX?
I noticed that the advertisement mentioned three versions of the 2020 model. I have to wonder if they will be offering three models in the United States.

Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires

Re: Any news on the 2020 Honda PCX?
Personally, here on the old continent everything up to 125ccm is considered a scooter for the city. Also it has to do with EU driving license.
More gear add weight and price. This will kill the PCX concept. The downside of the PCX in Europe is small look comparing to other scooters.
I'd suggest two level seat, length, height, rear disc and better suspension for two.
I guess that 2020 may only bring rear disc with ABS.
Oh yes, the SMART key is the revolution. I hate the bayonet looking key and lock cover. I hope that after-market conversion becomes available soon.
