fall ride
it was about 40 degrees today here in upstate ny. supposed to be some snow showing up within the next couple of days. I thought I had better get out on the pcx before its to late for the year, I did about 2 1/2 hrs around one of our beautiful lakes. my secret is heated gear with a battery under the seat, cheating yes, but great fun. so glad I went for the tall windshield. ice age coming soon

If it was Lake George or Lake Champlain I've been there done that.I did about 2 1/2 hrs around one of our beautiful lakes. my secret is heated gear with a battery under the seat, cheating yes, but great fun. so glad I went for the tall windshield. ice age coming soon
Americade East 1987. One of the early ones.
Didn't know anything about it until some guy on a BMW, while crossing on the Ferry across Lake Champlain, told my girl friend (future wife) and I that it was worth checking out. We got a motel room and rode into Lake George Village the next morning and were amazed. It started raining though and we had to cut the festivities short. Aimed the Ninja 750R back to Connecticut and endured. . ..
Back to the beers . . ..
Call me crazy. But this ain't no rehearsal. Live it . . . Dig it!!!!

Re: fall ride
If you get a camera with a removable memory card you can plug it into any computer that has a card slot (that works with your type of memory card) and load your pictures. You can also delete them as needed. Just make sure you have backup files for any photos you don't want to lose if the computer fails or crashes.i need to buy a camera that i can download the pictures from the only pics i can take right now are the camera i can hook up to my laptop
The cameras also usually come with a USB cable and some of them even have WiFi capability now . . ..
There are a lot to choose from. Best Buy is a good place to read the reviews and they have a good selection.

Or that little chord thing - from the camera to the front of the PC.Old Grinner wrote:If you get a camera with a removable memory card you can plug it into any computer that has a card slot (that works with your type of memory card) and load your pictures. I plug mine in, turn on the camera - camera asks if I want to download to computer photo file. Click yes.
Make coffee, then start editing the pix.
and, "Bob's your father's brother!"
Fish
Questions?.....

Me too! Awesome Lakes!Old Grinner wrote:If it was Lake George or Lake Champlain I've been there done that.I did about 2 1/2 hrs around one of our beautiful lakes. my secret is heated gear with a battery under the seat, cheating yes, but great fun. so glad I went for the tall windshield. ice age coming soon

Especially Lake Champlain!! Late 60's I went with my friend (his parent's drove) to their beautiful old home close to the lake. What a view, what a setting. I said, I Want This Life for the rest of my Life!
There I fished everyday for 2 weeks. It was like a dream come true. The water? Like Glass. What's the catch? A very large Freshwater bass (I was made to walk their dirt road to show it off

In the early 70's, I drove my Spanky New first edition VW SuperBeetle (semi-automatic) to Lake George. Took 3 friends along. But got hit in the rear 10 minutes into the ride by a drunk while sitting at a stop light @ 6am. BAM! Crap! Called police they came. Followed them to the Station to file individual reports (that took 2 hours away from our Early planned takeoff

Spent the weekend that's all. We were Still in school. Saw the Paddleboat, and Fort William Henry. We were crazy. Goofed off, drank beer n wine. Took lotsa pics. The ride home not so fun. Reality. School. Homework. Oh, and explain the "Bug" Crush
Neither trip on a bike.

Re: fall ride
My dash cam on my bike writes to an sd card that is removable for downloading. My Samsung phone saves to a sd card. My camera writes to a sd card. I carry an adapter that can plug into the bottom of my phone and uploads pictures to my phone. Everything is much easier these days.big bear wrote:i need to buy a camera that i can download the pictures from the only pics i can take right now are the camera i can hook up to my laptop
If I take a picture on my phone it automatically is backed up to my cloud account, where it can be accessed by any of my Samsung tablets. The only problem "link" in my house is my wife's Apple Macbook Air, which does not connect to our Samsung cloud account. For that computer we have to hook up the sd card reader or email the pictures to her. What a pain.

If you get a dash cam/camera with built in Wi-Fi you don’t need to bother connecting manually with cables or cards. Upload straight to your phone, computer or server.

Re: fall ride
I found this on amazon. I ordered one and I will see if it works out as a replacement for my dash cam as well as a camera I can take stills with while on my ride. It is cheap enough and should be able to do everything I need it for. They have a wide variety of selections, in case you demand more from your camera, and they are 1/10th the cost of a new Gopro. For that price, buy two and have one as a back up.

This one has a remote you wear on your wrist too.
