Just boight my new HONDA PCX125!

Post by SWadley125 »

Hey Guys! :D

Have just bought my new Honda PCX125 2013.
No pictures as of yet but will have some when it arrives!

Should let you know a bit about myself:
I'm 17 on 21st of this month and I live near Cambridge, UK. Currently I ride a Longjia 50cc but has broken down... expected as its Chinese but it got me into the craze of scooters! So excited for when I can ride it and I'm collecting it on my 17th birthday so not long away now!

Quick Icebreaker to get to know you all...

How did all of you feel when you finely got handed the keys?
Will be nice to speak to you all!

Sam.

Very uneasy ... I had never ridden a bike in my life and I live in the heart of the city which has between 12 and 14 million people in it. I had it trucked to my apartment and drove it around the parking lot a bit before venturing onto the streets in the complex behind where I live. After about 75-100 kms of that I took in out on the main roads. I just try to stay within my limits and will move on as I gain confidence.

Fair play to you! When I got my 50cc I got it delivered and drove it along my path - forwards, turn around and back again until I was confident aha!

I was happy but felt a little bit sad because after the PCX was rolled off the van my beautiful Triumph was loaded onto the van and I had to say goodbye to it.

Ecstatic! Seriously, I paced around garage floor a full hour waiting it's delivery! I had sold my heavyweight MP3 just for this featherlight. When it arrived, I gave it a quick check. I topped off tires to spec, checked park brake (it grabbed), adjusted mirrors, checked present mileage....it was 17 (huh?), and other Important pre-ride bits. No doubt about it, this IS a Great scoot!! So go ahead...jump up and down! Your's is on the way!! :P 8) :P

Aww gn2, what a shame about your Triumph! Are you enjoying your PCX as much? Was it the right decision? I'm going to be the same WhiteNoise! The Honda garage do all the checks the day before so I just sign and get handed the keys and away I go! Looking forward to the day I can say, "that's my bike" 8)

Initially I enjoyed it but quality issues have seriously spoiled things.
The PCX was bought as cheap transport, due to my commute route changing its no longer suited to my needs.

Aww that's not to good but hey rather the centre stand than anything else on the bike! Have been stuck with my own two feet for 3weeks now because my engine blew (on my current 50cc not PCX(I don't have it yet))

Much worse than that.
The stand is fine, it was the crankcase that broke.
The chrome on the fork stanchions corroded badly and knackered the seals.

Congrats on your PCX! You'll love it, it's the most fun bike I've owned. It'll be a big upgrade from your 50cc too. :)

Here's the thread where we're talking about the centerstand issue: http://hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1395. It's only a problem on the 125 base. The 125 eSP or the 150 have no issues with it.
