KN Planning torque driver on PCX 150

So yesterday I installed a KN Planning torque driver on my 3600 mile 150 and I found a 10% increase in top speed on the stand! I can only guess that this pulley allows the drive belt to drop lower in the rear pulley and allowed a 8MPH higher top speed to 89MPH. Yes I have other mods and I give a more detailed explanation in my other thread "PCX 150 Further Mods."

My bike is nowhere near as fast as that on the stand. Rarely get past 0 mph

Whoa, that's hauling ass on the stand! Have you tried it off the stand to see how fast you get with rolling resistance?

The link you gave says it is for a 125. Was there another one for the 150 or does it work for both?

Is your belt shorter or wider than stock?

THOSE parts are interchangeable between both models.

The belt is a stock size DAYTONA reinforced drive belt from webike for the pcx 150. I have ordered the Yuminashi specified Gates drive belt which I'm told is a few mm longer but I will post the actual Gates part number for the pcx 150 and how much longer it is than the original once i figure that out too.

My belt already goes all the way out on the front pulley so I would need a shorter belt to allow it to run more inwards on the rear pulley.

I would try it with the stock belt first and see what happens. You could eliminate some belt stretch between the pulleys. Don't try and change bel sizes whatever you do. If anything buy an aftermarket variator (takegawa or daytona) and pair it with the torque driver. If your up for spending more money go with yuminashi. The takegawa variator is $60 dollars on webike so with the torque driver and with a reinforced belt you should be about $210 shipped with a top speed above 75mph.

do us a favor when you can ride test the off throttle back on with this spring and driver that will most likely be where you notice the biggest difference.

I will. First I will test with the stock contra spring, next with FIcon2 added, then with the yuminashi contra spring.

I ended up instaling the yuminashi contra spring and ficon2 at the same time. I got impatient with the snow. In my opinion the kn planning torque driver is best for those with bore kits. It´s slots are longer than stock and allow the rpms to drop too much. It actually became harder to maintain over 70mph. It runs 8200 rpm at 75mph so at that point you are below the 150s peak power at 8500rpm as stated by Honda. The difference on on off on throttle response was great. It was nice to go up a ramp onto the freeway at 8000 rpm instead of 4k-6k rpm, however I'm going to go back to the stock torque driver once I get my scoot back from the dealer. Now my bike wont start at all for them.

So looks like the end result, it’s not ideal to go with an aftermarket torque driver, unless you’re over 150cc’s. This will probably be the next investment I make BIG BORE! Also might be a good idea to look into wind screens for the bike, so I don’t have to ninja tuck at high speeds to retain speed. I notice now with the NCY setup to go past 63 mph I have to tuck because of the RPM range now. Doesn’t have that umph…

I would like to ask someone who installed the KN Planning torque driver on his PCX, if he needs to buy extra grease for the pulley and Drive Train Adjusting Washer (O rings). I want to buy this torque driver but I don't know if I have to buy suitable grease for the pulley and extra O-rings..Can i use the rings from the stock drive torque?

The KN Planning torque driver cones with good prongs already installed. Ou will however need some good grease to install it. As I stated I do NOT suggest this mod unless you have a big bore kit. I have a takegawa cam, exhaust, ficon2, and Daytona variator installed and I don't really have enough power to take advantage of this.

Go with a stiffer contra spring like takegawa and sliders and the rpm drop will be all but unnoticeable.
