Project Legroom Complete!!
Gained approximately 2-2.5 inches in legroom, took some quick pics in the garage - too much stuff from another project to pull it out this minute. Notes:
1. This was an expensive project, but only because I used very high quality leather and french seams. The same seat in vinyl would be much less expensive because of material savings and labor if french seams are not used.
2. With the increase in legroom my seated position is so much more comfortable that I've already forgotten about the $$ spent.
3. I will take more pictures soon so you can compare the seat humps side by side.
4. This was done re-using the original seat pan.
5. Seat re-install was 3 to 4 minutes.
6. I am 6'2" with a 34 inch inseam and some beat up knees from sports, so any legroom additional is very welcome / important.

Re: Project Legroom Complete!!
That looks good wineguy.
Now for a road test and let the butt tell you if the adjustment is good for it too!!!
I'm about 3" shorter than you, so the seat is ok as far as fit.
BTW, I ordered the back rest with my topcase. Waiting on it to be delivered now.

Re: Project Legroom Complete!!
Thank you Larry... if I can get this damn shed painted I will get out and ride before it rains, otherwise it'll be tomorrow. I've spend a little time sitting on it but as you say I need to get it out on the road for the real test.willajabir wrote:That looks good wineguy.

I've been thinking about the backrest - this time I'll let YOU talk ME into spending some $$.

That looks really neat
Re: Project Legroom Complete!!
That looks very good, nice job.
Do you have pics with the original seat with hump removed.
At first try, i wanted to remove it, but now, i m almost used to it.
But sometimes, i lack of space, so after the rear shocks improvement, that can be another things to do.

Not a great pic Hoyt, lighting was poor, but you can see the hump that is in the pan itself, which is what my guy used as the new back support. Depending on how an upholsterer pads it, you can increase your leg room by 2 to 3 inches.Hoyt wrote:That looks very good, nice job.

Really, a beautiful job. Congrats!! I will pass a link to this thread to others that are afraid to purchase a Forza due to legroom issues...you nailed it.

Thank you... it's ironic that the seat looks very complicated but once you remove the hump you realize how easy of a job this is.MichRocks wrote:Really, a beautiful job. Congrats!! I will pass a link to this thread to others that are afraid to purchase a Forza due to legroom issues...you nailed it.
If potential owners really like the Forza, the $$ spent on a quick seat fix are well worth it.

Like it. Wonder if the 2015/16 Forza will go all PCX and remove the hump entirely ?
Thanks for sharing.

Re: Project Legroom Complete!!
looks classy!!! Im 6'4" and would certainly benefit from this mod. but I do like to put my feet up on the high floorboards and use the stock back rest for support. I have gotten used to the seat the way it is but yours looks really good. Hmmmm...........

Looks great. I'm 6'3" and mostly all leg. If I can't get comfortable with the stock seat I may try to commission you to make me one like yours. Really great job on the fit and finish.

If they do I'm buying one!forza300 wrote:Like it. Wonder if the 2015/16 Forza will go all PCX and remove the hump entirely ?

For as big as that seat looks...there ain't much there!
And just can't bring myself to put a whoopee cushion Airhawk on my scoot. I have to walk up to it every day...looking at it.
This winter (only if I'm snowed off of the roads) I may take this picture and go to a shop for a rebuilt seat w/o the hump.

Re: Project Legroom Complete!!
Here is the seat in attachment.
I brought the forza to the seat dealer, but he thinks its better to just do a better hump (smaller for passager, and softer for driver). I will try to ride a little with no hump to decide.
Im not so tall (1.75m) but its great to move backward a little.

It does say forza on the side of the bike...
Re: Project Legroom Complete!!
My local upholster (does a lot of motorcycle seats and has done some PCX humps) says he will redo the seats and eliminate the humps for about $150. The legroom is fine for my height but it seems like a good option if needed.
