PCX seems loud pulling away or slow riding
My 2015 125 PCX seems to be very fuel efficient, getting 130mpg doing city driving and small runs of 30-45 mph when I can, but since new, although it rides well it seems louder compared to youtube videos and pcx reviews. I appreciate it's hard to tell from youtube videos, but in many videos when pulling away or 20-30mph I get the impression many PCX's are fairly quite compared to mine.
Difficult to explain what I mean by noisy, just pulling away and when going slow it seems louder than what I can compare to on-line (don't know anyone with a PCX to compare).
I'm taking it for it's first service Saturday having now done a little over 700 miles, and I'll ask the service guy for his impression, but thought I would ask users here of their impressions of the PCX. I assume if it's fuel efficient and starts immediately it must be ok, but can something be wrong or out-of-adjustment/spec even so?

hmm.. riding slowly i'm surprised buy if you are reving it when you pull away it will be noisy. I am surprised with how quiet mine is compared to other bikes but it's far from silent...

I go fairly easy in terms of reving it pulling away, but more than I did in the first week or so due to people saying going too easy at low speed is bad for the clutch. I've never maxed it taking away - don't see the point as the PCX reaches 30 very quickly.

VERY! lol
Mine is a 2013 registered at the start of the month. I wouldn't say it's any noisier than others on the road. Where are you based? does it do it when on the stand? could it be the numberplate / L plate vibrating?

Re: PCX seems loud pulling away or slow riding
Think it's exhaust or belt type noise, but may be normal for 2015 style PCX. Still, going to dealer tomorrow for 1st service, 730 miles on the 'beast' now

Re: PCX seems loud pulling away or slow riding
!st service done. Not really any news on loudness, but had a walk round town while service was done and three 110 Visions passed me by - they are so quite in comparison.
Flashing bar came on during 9 mile trip to dealer but rode all the way back home hoping it would last, judging by comments on how much is actually left. I got 135mpg last time, now trip showed 232 miles with 7.46 imperial litres added to bar in petrol filler - that gives 141mpg! (can't believe it's exceeding Honda's claims). Was quoted £71 for service, but total came to £87 with extra's and tax's. They say they replaced two types of liquid, Super 4 oil and EP90(?), but that lot was £9 before tax.
See how the bike goes, may do future services myself.

What was the ep90 for. That's final drive oil usually, but I thought it was engine oil in the pcx final drive. It's maybe a way of quietening the final drive gearing.
My 2011 makes a whirring noise if you spin the back wheel, but I haven't compared it to another to see if it's noisy or not.

Don't know - it's part of what was listed on the receipt along with 'green charge' for disposal of oil, labour, etc. Not sure how much they actually did. Thoughts of the bike being 'nicer' after the service may be placebo, or true, but I'll see how it rides and how the mpg compare to the last two fill-ups.

It should be engine oil not ep90. But tbh ep oil might not be a bad idea

I just thought it was something they knew but we didn't. Theses possibly a service bulletin about it or something.
See this http://www.castrolmoto.com/en/products/ ... ar_oil.php
It says Grand Prix on it so it must me good.
