Re: Magnetic Drain Plug?
No. I just put a flat Neodymium magnet from a Hard drive in between the oil screen and the retaining spring.Drifter wrote:Does anyone make one for this scooter, i think its 12mm x1.5

better research to make sure it fits but GY6 type engine caught my eye. Someone posted these links as replacement parts for PCX so maybe.

Re: Magnetic Drain Plug?
The magnetic bolt advertisement is not quite right. It only picks up ferrous metal particles not all metal shreds as it claims. Hence the filter. Theoretically, anything that makes it through the filter isn't harmful. The magnetic bolts are in some places where there are no filters/strainers.

Slick, some magnets lose their strength when hot, how much fuzz do you find on it at oil changes?
Thanks for the links, need to find the size and pitch of those GY6 plugs. I have magnetic plugs in all my bikes car and truck including the trannys and rear ends. Always a little fuzz on em better stuck on there than inside the bearings!!

Re: Magnetic Drain Plug?
Why can't we just devise and use these super magnets on the outside of our crankcases somewhere. Magnets have come a long ways in power and we don't need to put things inside our motors to worry about. One of you more suited to finding a location on the outside that would be safe to gather metal glint tell me where. I have small and powerful magnets I could adhere and then just remove the magnet and flush the oil at the same time... WALA! go invent, get rich and be happy!
