Honda Thailand recalls PCX 150
Today I received a letter from Honda (registered mail). They ask me to come in and get new tyres on my PCX150, since there may be problems with the ones supplied. For more details ee attachment.

Sure, I'll move it.
Good to see Honda taking care of its customers... Free tire replacement for anyone with a 150 in those VIN ranges.

Re: Honda Thailand recalls PCX 150
Time to get some PCX150 burnout videos before you take those tires in

Re: Honda Thailand recalls PCX 150
Thats a little disturbing... I guess PCX125 is not affected by this?

I'd appreciate that, too. There is still some tiny spots of the marking-new colour left on the wheels. I am just on the 3rd fuel-up... But otherwise, I am happy with that kind of customer-care. By the way, one tank full of gas is good for about 250 kmsTeamtd11 wrote:Time to get some PCX150 burnout videos before you take those tires in

Oh yes, we had a lot of heavy rain here in Phuket in the last days. Some roads were flooded, and I drove without problems through water going as high as one hand above my ankle - with the feet up on the footrest - when a car came by, the water went over the foolflap! When I had to stop it was about half way up to my knee

(Edited to correct typo.)

Check your VIN - I guess the 125 will not be affected. At least two friend of mine are within the range mentioned in the letter, they did not receive a notice yet. but they are living in Nong Khai, almost up-country. Mail there is really snail-mail.daugava wrote:Thats a little disturbing... I guess PCX125 is not affected by this?

Fritz,
Thanks for posting the recall notice. My wife took a call from my dealer in Chiang Mai and my "relayed" message was I needed to take it in ASAP for something. Things tend to get lost in translation at times here in Thailand, nice to know he rest of the story..

Yep, my missus got a call yesterday from the Honda dealer where she bought her 150 here in Chiang Mai - strange thing is, she's not got the stock wheels on it, rather 13" mags and the shop know this coz they put them on! On pushing her bike on the drive, there seems to be a slight "graunching" noise coming from the front, kinda like a wheel bearing on it's way out but not sure. We're going in tomorrow so I'll update once I know more.
Cheers,
Pikey.

Re: Honda Thailand recalls PCX 150
What tires are on the PCX150?
I've ordered a 150 in Holland. Hope mine won't have the problem or get changed immediately because I'm going for a 7000 to 8000 km trip within two weeks after getting my PCX150. Therefore I can't use a delay.

Re: Honda Thailand recalls PCX 150
I went to Honda in Phuket today for the 1000km-service and to ask for the replacement tires. The check-up took just long enough to get some fried noodles for breakfast, the bill (for the service) was 230 Baht (~5.75 Euro), noodles about 1 Euro. And the tires? "Honda did not deliver, sorry!" Maybe next month... I must say, I am not very amused of this way to handle a recall because of potential dangerous failure of the vehicle or parts of it.

Re: Honda Thailand recalls PCX 150
That sucks. I'm jealous of the low prices for service there though -- 5.75 Euro is nothing! I spend more than that on lunch here in the USA most days.

Re: Honda Thailand recalls PCX 150
Things are a bit cheaper here in Thailand. I was in yesterday for my "recall" tire replacement, oil change and 2500K service. Total damage was 123 Thai Baht or about $ 3.92 USD.

Sounds like I need to retire there. If everything is that relatively cheap, I could buy the equivalent of a mansion there, complete with guesthouse and butler service.

You would be surprised at just how many domestic activities you can farm out to local entrepreneurs; yard service, laundry pressing (no more ironing), weekly house cleaning, car wash and many others. The upside to this is the house boss is happy and I have more time to venture out on the PCX. Not a bad deal.

Re: Honda Thailand recalls PCX 150
Went to the Honda dealer last thursday. My PCX150 is in Belgium waiting for...yes, new tires and a GO from Honda. Hope that doesn't take too long so I can pickup my PCX next week!duive01 wrote:What tires are on the PCX150?

But the Thai problem with the tires is also a Dutch problem now! I want to leave for Spain at July 10 so it's gonna be a close call. My dealer has a black PCX125 on stock so maybe I have to go for that instead if my red PCX150 takes too long.

Re: Honda Thailand recalls PCX 150
Last Saturday (June 23) I received a phone call from Honda Phuket, they asked me to come in for the tire replacement on Monday. Being on a holiday trip in the North-East of Thailand I confirm Tuesday. Today I went there about 10.30 in the morning. At about 12.30 (after lots of Angry Birds on my Galaxy Tab) I left with two shiny new tires, and the bill was 0 Baht.
To kill time the salesman showed me the newest gem in the shop, a 700 cc motorbike, full three-gear-automatic, ABS, all hancy fancies. 450,000 Baht - just think how man PCXs you get for that money :-)

Re: Honda Thailand recalls PCX 150
Honda has given a GO for the PCX150 in Holland. My dealer told me I could pickup my PCX150 next week. That's just in time to make 500 miles/800 km's, get first service and leave for Spain the week after.
