Rather than keep losing money on the stockmarket, I cashed a bunch of shares in and bought this as an investment. It'll stay in England, be ridden 2 or 3 weeks a year and will increase in value. I had a 1982 model back in 85 and went to Spain on it so have fond memories of this bike. Gentlemen, I give you a 1983 Suzuki Katana GSX1100S. She's a Ripper!
Cheers,
Pikey.

That is nice. Pure unobtanium when I was younger

Nice bike, pity it's not one of the earlier 1000cc ones.

Re: Better than money in the bank
Agreed but they were a limited number homologation special so are even rarer than a bike like this in this shape. It has been a long, hard search to get this one (29,000km from new and found in Holland) and I am as happy as a pig in the proverbial with it. Just a bummer than I am only here for a few more days and the weather is so crap!gn2 wrote:Nice bike, pity it's not one of the earlier 1000cc ones.

Not so sure myself - the 1100 was a much better enginegn2 wrote:Nice bike, pity it's not one of the earlier 1000cc ones.
Re: Better than money in the bank
The (non-US) 1000 was the same engine sleeved down with lumpier cams and slide carbs.
The 1100 was possibly a marginally better motor for road use but due to the aforementioned rarity, an original condition single colour five spoke 1000 is the one to have.

Wouldn't be that fagged myself. Rather enjoy and ride rather than angst over perceived kudos
Re: Better than money in the bank
Enjoying the ride is definitely what a big Kat is all about.
It's probably the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden, it just suited me perfectly.
