Oh I forgot to add in the expanded tool kit I put together. Maybe a little over $100.

I picked up a Go-cruise and a mountable waterproof 12v power socket (have the Battery Tender one under the seat) at an Adventure Touring bike store in Eureka Springs, MO (Ozarks). Works well on the V-Strom but not as well on the Forza because the throttle spring is much stronger. Basically, a poor man's cruise control. I will run the new mounted 12v socket to a large enough circuit to run the air compressor.

Weight isn't much of an issue (they are mechanical pack mules) but actually for an adventure touring bike this is pretty much normal stuff if you look around Stromtrooper.com for trips in the backcountry and I really use/need just about everything I've got on trips now. The aluminum sides case packed add a few more pounds. Still missing some minor things like a tank bag or a dedicated GPS but getting much closer.

I watched some of his videos a while back. Those guys are crazy down under. I guess that's why the toilets flush the other way.

It isn't a mechanical pack mule. It's the last rehash of the ancient sv650 engine in the now outdated adventure bike format. On the cheap. It was a good engine though. Sticking bits to it wouldn't make it the bike you aspire to, even if they will probably both cost the same in the end

How do you find the weight of your Vstrom in terms of easy of maneuverability? And what's that CrampBuster I see in your sig?

You don't notice the weight other than pushing it around. The crampbuster is a great $10 addition. It lets you hold the throttle at speed with your palm. For very long trips some time of cruise control would be better. Once you get used to it you will become dependent on it like me.

Watch the size when ordering. This is the big one.

Added a few ore FARKLEs. GPS Mount and some bullet lights for day time riding visibility.

The GPS mount goes under the windshield and is laser cut 'Vstrom".

Cyclecare Formula 33 on nearly everything except the chain and DuPont Chainsaver (and DuPont degreaser) on the chain.

I took at look at your CrampBuster. Many good reviews. One person mentioned that it gets caught in your jacket cuff. Several could not get the piece to fasten to their throttle..... it slipped off no matter how tight they tried to fasten the band. Have you seen either of those things?

Yep. Not the cuff complaint but definitely some grips seem to slip more than others. This cheaper one I have doesn't even tighten but it never moves on the V-Strom grips. There is an adjustable one available for about $32 I think that can be tightened as needed. Unless the grips are slippery it is supposed to work if the cheaper ones slips. They also include a rubber ring if it is still slipping. I didn't even use the rubber ring.

I am hooked on it now.

I got tired of messing with the Mobius HD camera so I semi-permanently mounted (one of two mounts) it on the Strom and set it to automatically record and loop when I turn the key on. The mount position is pretty low vibrations plus I used thick model heli gyro tape for the Mobius mount. I also added a 64GB card on sale for $25.
