Anybody have a Honda Tall Winshield?
I am thinking about pulling the trigger on getting the honda . I've been looking at the others available and was wondering if the Givi would be suitable for me as well. I'm 5'5" and would like to have less wind etc.

We'd all love less wind...

I think I am going to give the nationalcycle windshield a try. I installed the Givi D1136ST yesterday (I have a 2015 PCX) but it's going back. It is so small!relic wrote:nobody here seems to want to give

It's an improvement to the stock one but it only protects from wind up to the neck only. I am used to a tall windshield on my Piaggio MP3 so I need something closer to that. I like the OEM tall Honda windshield but close to $300 is too rich for my taste.

Re: Anybody have a Honda Tall Winshield?
my bike is 2013
make sure the model I quoted will fit
they have 3 sizes
5' 6 you might want something like this
if you are much taller than I
N20052 don't want to steer you in the wrong direction
you should be just looking over the top of the screen
so if your a 6'er you might one something bigger

Re: Anybody have a Honda Tall Winshield?
Thanks for the info. You are right, my PCX is 2015 so these may not work. I will call them. Also, I am 5' 11" so you think I should go with the N20052?relic wrote:my bike is 2013

Thx for the reply relic. Good food for thought. National Cycle seems like a good choice.

Re: Anybody have a Honda Tall Winshield?
Just so everyone knows:
National Cycle does NOT currently offer a windscreen for the 2015 MY.
They told me (via email) that they have no plans to make one.

N20052 Extra Tall Touring Replacement Screen and Givi for sa
I received and mounted the Givi D322S Windshield from http://www.accessoryinternational.com for my 2013 PCX but it's really too short.
I intend to order the N20052 Extra Tall Touring Replacement Screen from National Cycle.
http://www.nationalcycle.com/vehicles/s ... 20052.html
Since I have already mounted and ridden with the Givi it is technically not eligible for return according to their policies.
Anyone wanna make me an offer?

As for installing the N20052, on my 2013 PCX the stock handlebar clamp bolts are not directly accessible, are covered by what is perhaps a removable plug covering the bolts. Any idea how to get to the actual bolts?

Re: Anybody have a Honda Tall Winshield?
I have that one on my '13. I didn't remove anything on the handlebars. Just the front "grille" insert and the stock windscreen. Took a few minutes, in all.ironcloudz wrote:Question:relic wrote:I would call them

Re: Anybody have a Honda Tall Winshield?
You are referring to the N20052?
Their instructions suggest that they mount on the handlebars:
http://www.nationalcycle.com/media/wysi ... 68-000.pdf
But I hope you are correct and that they mount to the stock fasteners!
How do you like the N20052?
Thanks.

Re: Anybody have a Honda Tall Winshield?
Wow Stu, I don't know what screen or bike that is, but it's not a PCX and that's not a 052 screen. The 052 is on my bike in the picture. It's a straight replacement. As to whether I like it, yes, I do. I'm 5'8" and it comes up around my mouth-height. On my last bike the screen came up about nose high and I liked that a bit better. This screen does a good job keeping the swirl above my helmet visor (along with the bugs). It does however cost about five mph at the top-end. I did an A-B-A comparison with the stock screen. I'll take it as a fair price for the calm behind it. Oddly, it does a good job at the hands as well. They did a nice job on the aero homework on this screen. Be careful when installing it, though, as the "black-out" at the bottom-inside scratches easily. A Sharpie marker, used judiciously, will work well repairing small scratches in it.

Re: Anybody have a Honda Tall Winshield?
Apparently, National Cycle has the incorrect pdf link to the install instructionshere:
http://www.nationalcycle.com/n20052.html
thanks JDB. I am about 5'10" so I imagine it will block up to my chin or so which will keep my chest protected, which is better than the smaller Givi.
I don't care about top speed I use it for local commuting and would never drive it > 50MPH tops. I wear goggles rather than full face mask and it can get chilly during the winter commute and the bigger screen should help. And the fact that it tends to block the wind from hands sounds good also, cause that's the other exposure point to frigid winds.

Re: Anybody have a Honda Tall Winshield?
Hey ironcloudz, You asked?
If for instance you want to rotate your handlebars, you simply remove those shiny caps (covering the four bolts) with sticky duct tape. Yep, easy peazy
cut a few small pieces, press them on good (use your fingernail around the edges)....then give a pull at each. Off they come! Then remove the tape from the caps asap.
If the bolts themselves are too tight, spray some Blaster on them and let them sit overnight. They'll let loose by morning. Cheers!
