Planning on selling my PCX 150 for a.....

Post by Mr Elbows »

.........BURGMAN soon! :D But I need some selling advice. With the condition that my bike is in, I'm not so sure that I will get much back for it. It's currently at 8,000++ miles, and it has scratches on the right side from when I took a spill when riding in the rain with stock tires (I now have CityGrips with a few hundred miles on them). What's the estimate that my scooter will go for?

Here are pics of the scratches from a thread I made back in May.

Sure you want to sell? You've had the bike for only 6 months, from your post.

Anyway, $2000 seems a little high for the damage and the miles. Brand new 2013 PCXs are going for $2699 here.

Unrepaired damage on a bike is a big danger sign for me. If an owner doesn't bother to repair it, what other issues has he ignored? Of course, I don't know you--but that's the point, neither will potential buyers.

Too many ex-bikes to list, and, besides, who really cares what we used to own?

My opinion only, I'd head south of the $2,000 mark. You'd be surprised how many folks as First time riders on a first scooter will get turned off by damage and the cost that it brings to repair. Odds are they won't be scooter repair savvy. Just something to think about. Good luck with the sale. Got pics of the Burger? 8)

$2000 is way high around here. I've seen pristine 2013s with a couple hundred miles go for $1800. Things might be different all the way out in Nevada, but I think you'd be lucky to get $1500 in its current shape.
