Carrying grocery bags?

I recently returned from living in Taiwan for 6 1/2 years where I rode my Kimco 125 almost every day. A low mounted hook and flat floor were indespensible.

Now I'm back in the USA and buying a 2013 PCX 150 but am trying to figure out a way to hang grocery bags. I'm leery of a handlebar mounted hook because of bags swinging as a turn.
What are my options.

I fussed about this considerably because I was quite addicted to the grocery hook on my old scooter.

For the heavy stuff, I close my seat on a circle of braided fabric to create 2 little loops,
so that I can bungee a bag to the pillion area.

As you can see, I also have a top case and use that for the lighter stuff.

We have Givi top case and have enough room under the seat to put some of the bags as well. Unless you are going to buy more than 5 plastic bags worth of groceries you should be able to fit all of them on the bike. I also have two straps that I use for bags I put behind me, between the top case and my back. These straps are permanently attached to the bike. I had a thread on this forum in which I showed how to attach the straps. You can attach just about anything to them.

Groceries delivered?? Foreign concept where I live. I think my local grocer would just stare at me blankly if I asked.

So long as the hook is in the centre section of the handlebar between the mounts the steering will not be affected.
Another option to consider would be throwover panniers, either proper motorcycle ones or just loop two canvas bag handles together.

Actually, I was more worried about my face hitting the hook, since I often wear open-faced helmets.

DR, I like that ezy idea of yours, a braided/twisted circle of strong fabric! Clever indeed!

I came across a long cotton terry robe belt that's missing it's robe Sound familiar?

Think I'll attach one end of it to the other end (via velcro, sewn or glue(or a combination of them), then twist it tightly leaving a nice size circle loop at each end. I'll secure the loops similar to the way I connected the circle. Then place it in the glove bin for use anytime (and for many things) Fab!

Oh yeah...I'll secure the base of each loop with glue too (or whatever) to keep them the size I want...to keep the braiding held/intact.

How's that sound to you DR? Am I doing it right? Is my fabric strong enough?

The engineering requirements are that it be strong,
but not bulky enough to mess with the seat's closing mechanism.

All I did was find some "bias tape" in a couple of colors I liked
(like http://www.amazon.com/Wrights-Double-Fo ... 00EFFVYKG/ ),
combine it with some black strap left over from my lap blanket adventure,
braid the three together, and knot the ends.

It looks like this, when it's not under the seat.

I have the Givi EA101B saddlebags and was able to a half bushel of apples in each side with a little room left over. I like them.
