Brake Replacement
After how many miles have people been replacing front and rear brakes?
Is there any aftermarket brake setup that is an improvement over the weak factory breaks?

I don't find the brakes particularly weak.

Re: Brake Replacement
Is that the NCY disc /rotor? Is the bracket included with the disc? What is the difference between the floating rotor and the cheaper fixed rotor?

No, its an Impact wave rotor from webike in Japan. There are various colors available. Yes it comes with the offset bracket. Floating rotors allow the rotor 'spider' to be aluminium so are usually lighter, they allow expansion of the rotor due to heat without warping (not that that's likely with the PCX lol) and they look waayyy cooler.

Floating, hence the aluminum colored spider and buttons.

Re: Brake Replacement
My brake reservoir fluid is right at the line indicator on the glass.
I have fitted handlebar risers and I may have not got them on level, they look ok. It is hard to seebthe brake pad lining wear so I am not sure if at 3800 miles the pads need changing.

Re: Brake Replacement
Really lol, there's quite a variety of aftermarket rotors and even a four pot caliper out there if you look. Nice thing is one finger braking 90% of the time now, and it looks good doing ithomie wrote:mother honk!!!!!!!! WTF

Re: Brake Replacement
I don't know how important it is to upgrade the front brakes but when we had our accident I felt as though the bike wanted to keep going, though I had the brake levers pressed as hard as I could for an emergency stop. (It didn't stop in time.) I have had a lot of bikes and every one of them seemed to have better brakes than the PCX. Maybe it is my imagination though. Anyone have any ideas on how to improve the brakes on the PCX? I know that the back brake is drum. I have to wonder if better pads would help there. On the front, should I consider a larger brake rotor, or rotor and caliper set?
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150
Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers

Improve the rotor, improve the pads, improve the tyres, improve the forks.Mel46 wrote:I don't know how important it is to upgrade the front brakes but when we had our accident I felt as though the bike wanted to keep going, though I had the brake levers pressed as hard as I could for an emergency stop. Then it won't be idiot proof and we'll need ABS
